Sorry, car was stolen from Workington in Cumbria sometime after 10pm Saturday night. Police apparently gave chase to it close to where the owner lives but because it was not reported stolen they terminated the chase

It was speeding mate but as said police backed off due to not being reported stolen at the time.

Now that is very worrying, I thought these cars were impossible to steal without the keys??
Perhaps he's had the car in somewhere for some work and they've copied the key?
There's a company in aylesbury that fits stereos for people and then supposedly a few months later, go to the address knowing where the car lives and steal the stereo back.

So we have a lead, now to start our evidence collection

Where did the police follow it to roughly? Does the previous owner live there? Does a garage employee live there that handled the car? Is the place he bought the car from around there?

Just odd why the police backed off, usually people get pulled for speeding regardless!

Does sound pretty conclusive that the key has been copied though.

police probably got a priority call so let the speeding offence go, as it wasnt reported stolen, maybe bigger fish to fry???

also they cant take most modern cars without keys, or a 4 wheel lifter, so as it was bing driven, must have a key, one way or another.

Update: Car was found last week in Penrith, It's not good though as it's been partially stripped and is in quite a mess. It does look as though the key was copied whilst having work done but can't say too much at this stage as investigations are ongoing.

Gutted for your friend mate. Absolute :censored: if they have copied the key, cant trust no-one these days eh. My car will only go to one garage for work doing for this very reason. All the best to your friend.

Hey mate,
Just wondering if this is your old car? It has different seats in it now, and the reg has been changed, but it's a frozen white model with tints and black side stripes.

Here's the ebay link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/focus-st-2-frozen-white-replica-cheap-/170768624059?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27c29a69bb

... and we've also been talking about it in this thread: http://www.focusstoc.com/forums/topic/102526-something-not-quite-right-with-this-one/
