Stupid question I was mucking about with the lads at work this morning and have found that I can drive my car around the yard at work with out the keys being in the car , so the question does anyone know if there's a distance that the car can go without the key in proximity of the car

I have the key free system on my pre-facelift. I don't know if there's a specific distance but I'll bet the car will keep going until the ignition is turned off
. When my fob is a certain distance away from the car I just get a message on the display, nothing more and the car keeps running!

What he said!!!

The salesman in the showroom explained that he drove to work once with his wife, she borrowed the car to go down to London. Neither realised he still had the key until she tried to lock the car in london (over 150 miles away), OUCH!!!

true but I think the logic behind it is to keep the keys in your pocket/handbag... Not dropping your missus off somewhere, driving off and only realising she has them after you have turned the car off and go to lock it

Then I bet £100 the salesmans wife was a blonde then!
