Been reading some conflicting reports on this.

Looking at a new phone. The g/f fancies an HTC Hero, which i have to admit looks good as well, but i reckon a Jailbreak 3GS would just swing it.

Anyone any experience before i part with my coinage?

Ive got a jailbroken 3gs and its the dogs danglies.
One thing if youbuy one now is DO NOT update to 3.1.3 as theres no jailbreak at the mo for this.
Im ok as I have 3.1.2 firware files stored with cydia, you cant do this anymore.
There probably wont be another jailbreak until 4g comes out.

Would there be any chance when buying the new iphone that it would already be updated to 3.1.3 and therefore unbreakable??

also new iphones are tethered when jailbroken , ie turn poweroff or run out of juice and you can only restart the phone if its plugged into a pc

best phone ive ever had though (camera is okish)

Sounds a bit pants that then for the iphone.

Might go for an Android based phone instead i think
