Intermittent Loss Of Power

177 Views 7 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  skay1975
Hi I wondered if anyone could help.

I drove 20 miles to work this morning - car sweet as! Got in tonight and drove about 10 miles with the car the same...got back in the car after calling at the garage, put my foot down and nothing!

Boost is coming in fine, I can hear the turbo....but no power.

Then all the power kicked in suddenly...then back off again.

-Engine temperature was fine
-no whining noises
-car revs nice when stood still
-the boost pressure was hitting 1.2 bars - seemed ok
-no warning lights.

I have Bluefin Stage 1 and an Airtec Gen3 intercooler...it's almost like I've lost a cylinder.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks!

Sounds exactly like the ESP that's all. Not sure then mate.
So the problem was in first gear from a stand still?

If you put your foot to the floor in 4th gear in a straight line, does it happen then?

It happens in every gear! Sorry forgot to add that in first post.
I thought more people would help with this

Maybe you have a spark plug on the way out?

That's been my guess so far...just ordered 5 new ones and having them changed on friday.

I hoped it was just playing up and would fix itself overnight (it's had random issues before that have just vanished when I left it for a while) but it's still doing it.

I was recommended to try removing Fuse 26 for half an hour...after I did this it worked fine for about 10 miles and then started acting up again.
