my insurance is due next month .been qouted £749. with saga £1471 with elephant. there must be some one cheaper surely.ive been reading about younger drivers gettin it for a lot less .how come.

I used to be with Direct Line but mine went up this year, so I went for Greenlight - deffo give them a go - got a lot of extra's on my policy that I didn't have with Direct Line.

They have a long list of postcodes that they don't cover. Waste of time and space.

I got a renewal quote of £450 through from eSure ... did the usual price comparison thing and a couple of our sponsors ... Aviva ended up being the cheapest as they are running a 12 months for the price of 10 promotion at the moment, got quoted £383. I then found that if I go through quidco that I could get £45 cashback, so in all it's only costing me £340 this year ....

that's for a 30yr old with 8 years ncb living in an A rated postcode area.

My renewal isnt up till August, but just rang my current insurer Privilege to get my mods put on (Eibachs, Dreamscience and Mongoose Exhaust) and the wanted another £200 on my premium and put my excess upto £700

Then I went onto confused.com and guess who came out cheapest......... The RAC

who use Aviva to provide insurance

Full business cover with 15k miles a year, all modifications declared for £569. It was £620, but because I have RAC breakdown cover, i got another discount. Pretty happy with that. It just goes to show that you dont have to go to 'specialist' insurers for modified insurance. Really happy with that

I did my insurance last week, you must add Adrian Flux to your list of "calls to make", try them last mate they have a promo on at the minute to beat any quote for new business customers.

I totally agree.... I tried them last and they beat my Greenlight quotation by 50 quid

, £440 with excess of £275 cant be bad.

I got 60 days EU cover too, good for travelling to/from the ring next year, protected NCB and the Mrs added as well, all for a tad under £485. Definately worth a call. They beat my best quote by £50 too. Insured all my mods like for like.
