Idle Revs

Hi just a quickie,
Is it normal havent had the car out for a month or so jumped in tonight and let it slowly warm up.When revving it stops at 4000rpm
???? seems to drop off power. This is stationary sat in my garage unfortunately not had chance to drive been to busy any thoughts please

is that with the clutch in? i think there is a limit so u cant over rev, some people say its launch control but its not.

either way i think its meant to do it! ive never tried tho..

Ford told me about this when i bought the car it is normal. He said its a failsafe of some sort to protect the engine from over revving when idle, kinda like some of the rally cars have.
It's more a case of protecting the transmission from you winding it up to the redline and dumping the clutch, you can rev it as high as you like in neutral if you keep off the clutch.

Comparing it to what rally cars have is how people get kidded into thinking the ST has Launch Control, it's classic dealer bull poop.
