Damm,i see the vid of the car in the lake and did wander what happened!

But this only asks more questions!! Why did he not stop, or turn away from the lake?

Yeah but not in a 1 mil Veron it dont, I recon the driver must have passed out or fell asleep, no sign of trying to stop or swerve!!

The driver reportedly claimed a low flying Pelican swooped in front causing him to loose concentration and he dropped his phone, while trying to retrieve the phone he veered into the lake.

Anyone that has ever driven in the states will realise that the last thing on anyones mind in a car is actually driving. They have a host of distractions to keep them amused, actually bothering to look over the dash is an afterthought.
