My insurance is due at the end of January for my ST2 with no modifications. I am the main driver with maximum no claims and my wife has 5yrs no claims. I have received a renewal quote for £475 from Direct Line. How does this compare with what other people are paying? Can anyone recommened any particular company? Any advise gratefully received.

Sounds reasonable enough to me,

I'm 24, 4 years NCB and pay £600 for a 2006 Mountune 260 ST3 (although for a standard it was same)

Postcode is in a 'B' area I believe and I stated about 5k miles a year though that may need to be upped soon

I'm with Elephant (Admiral) and they are the only company who can quote anywhere near this price, though I have a feeling when I turn 25 in April, other, more specialist companies may become viable.

i was with direct line last year and didn't rate them at all. the only reason we stayed with them is because Named drivers still earn NCB.
Just changed to Elephant 3 months ago and they are brilliant. Very Mod friendly (DL wasn't) actually got a cheaper quote with elephant.
i have a claim going thru with elephant at the moment and i must say i have never received better customer service.
Another big put off with direct line was that whenever i called them,i could never understand the person at the other end of the phone (not speaking good english)

Have you tried the various insurance companies that are club sponsors, as I believe they all offer some sort of discount. I went with Sky Insurance (sponsor) and paid £350 fully comp, protected maximum no claims, other half as named driver, mods declared i.e. remap, lowering springs, cat back exhaust. Hope this helps

I went with Admiral after getting many quotes. I managed to save £175 between my ST and my wifes LX over my renewal quotes. Staff were really helpful.
