Heated Wing Mirrors

Can't believe my ST3 doesn't have heated wing mirrors, when it has heated windscreen and seats. Thats just daft!
Was it an optional extra? Or is there some sneaky way of activating it - dont have the user manual on me right now.

If it was an optional extra, how easy is it for me to retro-fit them?

Cheers.

The heated mirrors only operate when you use the heated screen and the temp is below freezing if i remember rightly!

correct, put my front screen on this morning and the mirrors cleared (st 2 - 2007 pre facelift)
Oh right, cool. I didn't have the heated windscreen on this morning, as it cleared ok with just the wipers and heater.
The wing mirrors didn't clear at all on my journey to work. I guess I'm just used to my old TT in the winter, which
heated the wing mirrors whenever the ignition was on!

Will try tonight with the heated windscreen on, cheers. If that works, I can live with that :)
Mine work when the front or rear heated screen is on, hope its meant to do that. 2008 facelift ST3
Mine works when i have the Rear screen on. 06 pre-facelift.
It doesnt have to be below freezing, they will work whenever you have the rear screen switched on.

Hi Mirrors work on either heated front or rear window are used and also if temp is below certain they will come on auto with both screens

Heated mirrors work when the REAR screen is switched on they are NOT automatic
Well had heated 'front' screen on all the way home, touched wing mirrors when got home stone cold.
On way to work tomorrow I'll try heated 'rear' screen instead. Gotta love the ST!

As mentioned the heated mirrors definitely operate with the rear screen on. Not sure about the front.
Not sure how subtle this heat would be and if you would notice by touch though.

Ok lets put this one to bed..

20 minute drive with heated windscreen on - wing mirrors both stone cold
20 minute drive with heated rear screen on - wing mirrors both WARM!

07 plate pre-facelift. Nice one

For info, IIRC, heated front screen activates heated washer jets
