the thing is im not 100% on how to fit the new one in to the hole

do i just force the cage Rectangle Automotive exterior Bumper Technology Metal

into the hole and jiggle it about or do i have to remove the big plastic bit to put it in properly

not used the cage at the minute just some polystyreen

what do you think

White Automotive design Plant Mode of transport Steering part

at this point i realised i need a facia surround doh

any pointers appreciated

oh one other thing the parking brake wire thing to get the dvd player working

what a pain my hands are too big to be messing between seats

ended up just randomly sticking end of wire on metal surfaces until i got a picture

found the side of stereo works just fine

anyone?

do i need extra brackets or a differant harness or summat
I think, when you get the new fascia it will fit in fine as it moves the unit to the right (so in the middle).

Fascia Plate

Someone else may be able to confirm?
You just need the fitting kit and facia and prob the remote lead so you can use the steering wheel controls. This is the exact stereo I'm looking at getting......where did you get it? There on ebay for £299.....did you beat that?
I have had this head unit fitted to my
a few months ago and its awesome, brings the standard speakers alive.

I know when mine was fitted it needed a slightly smaller plastic surround than the one it came with, as for some reason ford Double din space is smaller than normall double din....

I payed £480 for mine but this included headunit, fitting, fitting kit, facia surround and steering remote control. this was about 4months ago.

Enjoy

as said above you need the ST fitting kit,

it comes with correct cage and fascia surrounds for the dash, should be simple from there i did mine about a year ago took about 40 mins

dont know if it helps but here is my post

just had a look at the fitting kits and ive got all the parts apart from the rectangle blocks

on closer inspection they look like black polystyreen blocks

so i guess im not far off with my bodge job just need my facia which i should get today

yey
well stereo is in

facia came today

i ended up just forcing the cage in the hole

then pushed the stereo into the cage

slapped the facia on

bobs you uncle

its very almost flush and sounds and looks great

just one small problem

i forgot to plug the ariel into the back of the stereo

and now its in it doesnt want to come back out

thanks for the replys

Do you have a pictures of the unit in? I wondered how flush it sat?
Glad you got it sorted. Can you put up a link where you got th facia kit and also the stereo?

I've found the stereo on ebay for £299.....just wondering if you got it for less?

Was it just a case of taking out the old one, unclip the wires......reconnect the new one and push it in?

Cheers
