Ggr Cais Broke

My GGR cais has broke. I went to fill the washer fluid up and noticed the cold air feed pipe was wobbly. On closer inspection the cais is ok but the bit where the cold air feed screws in has snapped. I have searched and see that this is a common problem and I don't want to buy a new cais if I dont have to.
But will affect performance?
And if I was to take the whole side piece off the cais so you could see the k&n but leave the feed where it is to direct some cold air to the k&n so you can hear the K&N, would this be ok and will the car run ok?

Contact GGR imo replacement parts should be free from them

The intake hose was upgraded to stop this happening
Yep its happened before, as jimothy said, get on to GGR, they are a helpful bunch...

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
I bought it 2nd hand so I don't think they will replace it and I would still have to pay to get it fitted. I was just going to take the side part off if I can so its like an open filter but with the cylinder around the K&N and get a longer hose to direct towards it and hopefully I will be able to hear some noise from the K+N and it still give the same performance. I run mod-c and their map was designed on their open filter so I'm thinking it might still give the same performance while adding some noise.

What do you think?
Has anybody tried it or know of anybody doing it or modifying the GGR cais?

I would still contact ggr as said, don't tell them you bought it second hand, tell them your a member on here and see what happens. It must be easier to replace the broken section then change the whole lot.

Any more info on this guys or shall I just buy a Dreamscience CAIS?

Spoke to GGR and they said they have updated the part and its £50+vat and P+P.
I'm going to buy it and sell the kit for £200 or give the option to the buyer.
I'm changing to Dreamscience CAIS so I can hear that induction roar. I'll just have to watch out for rivers.
