Just seen this news on Sky Sports...and I have to say it is good news

The players have to stand up and take responsibilty for poor performances but the buck stops at the manager, the man can not even come across well in an interview

Obviously Scotland do not have any Greame Souness's or Kenny Dalglish's at their disposal at the moment but in my opinion the team is better than they have shown in recent games...Saturday being the final straw!

God knows who will want to take the job on now though

I am not sure who will want the job either...not many that's for sure.

I think wee Chesney would have took it if he had not just got the Middlesbrough job.

The bookies are already saying Levein but he would be stupid to take it....so it does not leave many candidates...but whoever gets the job now they do not have a hard act to follow.

Maybe rumoured this morning as the SFA have been in meetings all day with the media camped outside but the official press release has been in the last hour or so I believe.

Gary McAllister was a top player but would not be a popular Scotland manager in my opinion...He would also probably rule himself out of the job anyway

Wee Chesney indeed.

I thought Jimmy Crankie was quite a fitting name for him too!

Its a wonder the Souness doesnt make himself available for the job. I just hope that we dont get another "overseas" manager.
I must admit i thought Burley would be just what Scotland needed when he got the job.I liked the way he had Hearts playing etc...all his teams tried to play football. The Scotland job just never worked for him.
So who's next???? or who would want it.I honestly believe we just dont have the talent any more.Scottish football is at the lowest point i can ever remember, both domestic and at the national level.

No offence to the sweaty's ( because i'm a laidlaw) but , your team just aint good, enough get the best coach , manager , or director of football. 10 years ago i could name probably all eleven starters in the scots national team , i could only name 2 or 3 these days. I blame the influx of europeans, africans,& south americans in the premiership for the sweaty's football's decline , sadly i fear that we will never see again the likes of hansen. gemmel, dalglesh, souness & jordan again

You make some good points Neil and most Scottish people will agree with you...

We know we are not a strong footballing nation at the moment and won't be in the near future either if ever...but we have pride

Also Neil I do not like being referred to as a sweaty...joking or not I am afraid

Souness has twice put in for the job before and the s.f.a turned him down he said he wont try again and i dont blame him!

As for the next man for the job it prob be levein or mcghee forget mcghee he;s ruled himself oot !

No matter who it is we will bounce back
