Future Meets - What Would You Like

1505 Views 40 Replies 18 Participants Last post by  5tew ST2
Basically as title, I have a few idea's myself and could go and crack on with them but I would like to know what you guys think and what type of meets you would like. I know some of you would like a West Yorkshire Run so please feel free to discuss it here, but this thread is not just for that, so any other idea's you have please put them down here and we can discuss them and if enough people are interested I will do my best to organise them.

Cheers
Si

Hi Si, Obviously any meet is good, but us West Yorkshire boys are gagging for a meet up this way (Skipton onwards) the roads are very good and there are a few excellent meeting points. I and Rottweilier Mick will be more than happy to meet you one weekend or mid week and show you some roads and see what you think?
The Lakes run I did earlier in the year was fantastic (organised by COXY 1978 - Ryan). Cheers Fella

James I would expect better of you.
But I will see what I can do.

Pete I would expect nothing less of you.
But maybe we could get the new STOC banners and get them to dance around them.

Don't wish to be pessimistic (and at the risk of getting shot down in flames) but as I recall the last time a West Yorkshire meet was arranged, the bloke who was doing all the whinging about the lack of one didn't even bother to put his name down and then loads backed out at the last min and it had to be cancelled.... just a thought.
A lakes run is always good (although not at the moment lol), there are some very good roads up here. I went on one December last year and met with a few (who actually weren't from the region) the night before and had a right laugh on the lash. Just think if people can afford it to make a weekend of it - meet the saturday afternoon/evening at a hotel, few drinks, then the next day (sober permitting of course) go on a really good drive. I just like to actually meet the people for more than 5 mins before sitting in my car for a drive all day. I know it won't be to everyones taste, but a suggestion nonetheless.

i used to run a NW meet for vxr boys, which included about an hours run on the moors over some nice twisty roads. then end up at a very nice pub where you can order meals, they used to reserve tables for me so seating was never a problem.

Heres a couple of pics i did for the meets, i know its vxr's in the pics sorry about that
, but these are just to show and the landlady and landlord have already said yes to a monthly meet of ST's

This is an idea for us st lot if thestumper doesn't mind.

To be honest mate, i will go along with most of the meets you want to sort out.

Isle of Man 2010 is going to be my trip of the year though
Can't wait for that after the last 2!!

No that's a cracking idea Nige.
I was speaking to John at profile last week and he mentioned this meet to me and said I should have a word with you about it. So I'm glad you brought it up. Its looks and sounds very good and I think the best thing to do is organise one to see how many are interested in a monthly meet there or maybe one every two months, as I personally will travel all day every day for a meet but maybe it would also be good to have one in a different part of the North West too. It's just finding a location and a small run to match this one that will be the problem. But thats something we can have a look at, so I am very happy for you to do this mate.

Sounds like a great idea to me, but with all the meets it will depend on work, but i will make them when im off..
And the people who want to meet the night before for a bevvy or 3 can do so as well! I would definitely be up for that!

There will be a lakes run next year and staying over in a hotel the night before is certainly something that can be looked into and if enough people are interested I'm sure in could be done. The only problem is with it is that I don't want the same
that has happened over Tony's Whitby Run but I suppose that is inevitable and if the masses want it then I'm sure it can be sorted.

You shouldn't have to pre book any hotel stuff - if people want to meet and greet the night before, then just a few recommended hotels and then the people who want to meet sort it out themselves. That's how it went last year and although there was only 5 of us, we had a great time. Plus I got to sleep with 2 women, which is always good!

Isle Of Man trip for me too Rick. 1st one for me though.

Although I would like to go to the ring next year, I don't think I will be able to. So unfortunately I will not be organising one. Maybe you could have a look at this year's trip Click and maybe see if you can get a trip sorted with a few other members. Sorry Andy. As above there will be an Isle Of Man trip though.

There's only 12 months in a year mate so that only gives you 12 good oppertunities to get it right
