Trying to check where the fuse boxes are and see if I need any new spares, but the Mk4 locations and access don't appear to be either as my previous Focus or the manual. I've lifted the top cover off the fuse box in the engine bay, but that didn't reveal any fuses. Also, when I peeled back the carpet under the glovebox, I couldn't see the fuse box inside the car. So if anyone could give me a simple heads up as to where the fuse boxes are located in the Mk4, and how to access the fuses once I've found them, I'd be very grateful.

I've not seen a Mk4 manual but he location of these components can't be much different to the Mk3 or 2.

If you read the first sentence carefully, Colin is saying he does have the manual but there is nothing fitted in the location(s) indicated.

Suggests to me he either has the wrong manual or his car is built incorrectly.

I suspect the former is rather more likely than the latter

It doesn't seem to be possible to download a pdf Mk4 manual from Ford.

I've wired my dashcam in to the passenger one.

Once you've removed the fabric section under the glovebox, you have to pull the plastic panel with a big fuse symbol on it towards the passengers seat and the fuse box is behind that.
Thanks Alex, the giant fuse symbol is a bit of a giveaway! I pulled the plastic panel off quite easily and got to the fuses.

I'm still struggling to get to the fuses in the engine compartment though. When I lift the cover I find two large cable connectors and I assume the fuses are underneath, but I can't separate the unit any further. Any ideas what to do next, am I even in the right place? Thanks.

Which fuse number have you tapped into for your dash cam, picking my car up next week and don't fancy going near the under bonnet fusebox

I used fuse 3, Parking Assist Module. It's ignition switched live, but nothing safety/security related.

It's the red 10A fuse, top right on Colin's pic above.

I grounded it on the nut that you can just see behind the edge of the carpet directly down from the fuses.
