Found Another Little Treat Today

Just noticed another cute little trick from the ST. When you have the front wipers engaged (NOT THE BACK) when you put the car into reverse gear it automatically sets off the rear wiper blade, even though it's off- how cool is that

It annoys the
out of me personally. If you dont have time to constantly keep the car clean like me, you get the horrible arch shape of cleanliness where the wiper goes and all the dirt around it! I HATE that!

Irritates me too tbh and to be fair, for quite some time, I wondered whether I had knocked the rear wipe on and then spent the next few minutes trying to undo it not knowing that I hadn't done it in the first place - if that makes sense

Suppose it is kind of cool tho

Agreed.

It's about a 6.348 on the "Things that irritate the bejesus out of me and consequently when I rule the Universe I will find the inventor of and publicly humiliate with radishes and a small goat" scale.

I hate that damn automagic wiper, normally it needs just a quick wipe if that but it keeps on going and going and going for the whole time you're reversing and it makes the window even more obscured than before as it smudges all the dirt in

One of the most annoying features of the car just behind the free rattles it comes with xD

I think its great................But i keep my windows clean !
I think its great, but i thought most cars do it?
Except VAG's that is.

J
I like it

What irritates me is that when you come to a halt with the front wipers on, it switches to slow intermittent which is nice, but when its on intermittent, they keep wiping at the same rate
What annoys me is the facelift on hard braking (e.g. Track day ) the hazard flashers come on !! Very annoying

Does this still happen with ESP off?

Also for the rear wiper thing, I don't mind because my window is clean
But I don't think it is really much use, just a standard thing most cars do now anyway. My mum's 53 plate fiesta finesse does it too...

I know what you mean Marc, really annoying, plus they come on to when the ESP cuts in going round some corners.
Have to agree with the majority! I hate the back window wiper coming onI It smears the dirt all over the back window which means you cant see out of it anyway and it makes the car look even more dirty than it is because of the big arc on the window! Not to mention if the window isnt wet enough it drags the rubber blade and probably damages it!!!

Sorry if it sounds like I'm moaning! Just my opinion!

As for the ESP comment. I have not experienced that...yet!

But it can be very handy when on a motorway to warn the traffic behind you
Well it doesn't annoy me, i actually think its a brilliant idea for the back wiper to come on. What annoys me is the fact that the wipers (which are more expensive than buying your own country) are about as useful as the rear end of rabbit sticking out of your hover!!!! The slightest bit of dirt on the windscreen and they just smear it across to the other side as well until you can't see the tree that you just hit, and you try and use the washers to get it off but they've already created there own small gravity field and pulled themselves out of alignment!! And i've even tried replacing the wipers thinking i might have had a duff pair . . . nope, still cant see any longer than 2 days after cleaning it!! I love my ST to bits and will never get rid of her but i can't stand that, any more than i can stand the constant rattles coming from every panel even though its only done 35000 miles!!
Personally I don't see the problem I think it is fairly safe to assume that if it is raining enough on the windscreen to need the wipers on, surely it must also be raining on the rear window aswell. Enough said.

I like mine, having had numerous other cars with no rear wiper which I found fair more annoying.
