Hi all,

I'm looking into selling my 07 plater and going for a brand spanking new ST. I have spoken to a distributor and they told me that from now on all STs will come with panther black alloys, privacy glass, DDS and DeATC as standard.

Just wondering if anyone else is aware of this and if so, which colour will look best. Black for the stealth look?

This is true all orders taken at the minute for early 2010 delivery are to be this spec, before the death of the beloved 5 pot 2.5l turbo, the next model focus will have have a 2l turbo probably taken from the fiesta ST to keep the tax band down with all this new emissions stuff it's the route most companies will go down, the polo R due next year will have a 1.4l engine producing 180bhp, just to keep the eco's happy.

In the ford dealer now, won't name which one. They have no idea about the new version with black wheels etc...

The distributor who told me about the changes was not talking about the so called gt260. He was a really switched on bloke, unlike where I am now lol.

Unless it's badged as a 'SIP' Special Interest product. Can't see them converting all 'sold' orders to black wheel spec. AS they will want to use up stock of the silver alloys.

I would suggest Panther Black with Black alloys would be a SIP (Perhaps with Factory Mountune) Package?

WE already know from the other posts on here about the ST2/ST3 Spec Changes for 2010 MY

Now I'm in a dilemma...

I can trade in my car with Ford for 11500, and get a new ST-3 for 18.5k. Or trade it in with another company for 9.7k and get a new ST-3 for 17k. (Low prices as I'm in the forces).

The alternative is selling privately for (hopefully!) 12k and putting this towards a new model at low price.

The issue I have is that I will be financing the majority of the car, bar a grand or two, and Ford offer a better APR but a larger price to start with.

Need to go and get my head round these numbers...

Ive just ordered my new ST-3 in electric white and can defo confirm they will now come with std alloys painted panther black, priv glass is std as is auto dimming mirror and auto headlights and wipers. Ive ordered the premium nav again and this now comes with the rear camera as per the rs.

All other options are there as before, although the dealer I ordered through wasnt sure about the solar reflect windscreen, its prob std along with the rest of the old option pack but dont know. Global closing is no longer available on 3 door and rear lecky windows are std in the 5 door.

approx 3month waiting list so Im in for new reg in march.

Oh another thing Ford are adding £500 to list price as of 1st dec, then dont forget the vat increase 1st jan

Am I the only one who isnt a fan of panther black alloys on new STs?

Black wheels on a white ST looks proper untidy in my opinion, same for EO and red - black on black maybe.

Interesting to read about the new 2L ST for 2010 - will that possibly mean our 2.5L retaining greater residual value maybe?

I'd hope the silver wheels could be specced too or you'll be seeing a few black sets for sale I'd say.

Any talk of a 2L next gen ST should be taken with a large pinch of salt imho. The 2.0L Ecoboost motor does seem to have decent spes so wouldn't necessarily be a performance drop from what we get now but as the next Focus itself won't be out till near the end of the 2010, and the fact that there's still no new Fiesta ST version there has to be a massive question mark over the next Focus ST too.

Be interested to know what Team RS are actually working on now or are they all out of a job?

I am in the process of ordering my ST, am not 100% keen on the black wheels either. Am trying to get silver wheels but this is proving to be difficult. Dealer has gone as far to say that they may need to paint the black wheels silver and charge me..? I don't understand why they can't stick silver wheels on.

Was going for White, but have stuck with perf blue; I reckon there will be someone either on here or elsewhere that will be up for swapping wheels.

Perf blue won't look he best with black wheels, so I will be trying to shift them sharpish.

Does anyone have pics of a pb st with black wheels?
