on behalf of the founder Team...

Unfortunately the Fiesta site has been taken down as the Staff are currently BETA testing the board software.

I can confirm that, during the behind the scenes testing, the Fiesta site has become 200% Faster than it was back when the new software was uploaded. Therefore, when re-opened the whole browsing experience will be similar to that of the focusrsoc.com site, and you will appreciate the full extent to which these upgrades improve the site as a whole.

As a bit of history for those of you who do not know; Fiestastoc.com was the first site to be created as part of The Fordstoc.com Network. The databases which run this site are far larger than that of focusrsoc.com and even focusstoc.com. If you can Imagine how many posts are created each day on this site alone; then add on a further 18 months worth of posts on top of that.... All these posts need imported into new board frameworks etc, and this takes time, and also requires extensive testing to make sure information is accurately displayed etc.

To do it properly and right, the new software has to be compatible with both our existing layouts & plug in software; such as to say, this has not been the case to date, and a lot of the ipb board software which the network runs on has had to be customised and re-written especially for Fordstoc.com. Not only for Fiestastoc.com, but so when the same updates are applied to focusstoc.com; the same does not happen here and we have a loss of either of the remaining 'non-upgraded' sites. It will serve a learning process for those who have taken part in the upgrade processes, so that the upgrades on the remaining sites are less of a 'Task' than that we have seen on Fiestastoc.com

It is fundemental to the growth of our network & sites that these upgrades be applied; primarily for your browsing enjoyment but in addition to this as browser technology moves on (e.g. Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 5 & beoynd, Safari, Chrome etc) we are able to allow the site to adpot to be viewed and enjoyed within these browsers.

At present the 'old' versions of our sister network sites, Focusstoc.com, mondeostoc.com etc are still running software which was primarily optimised for Internet explorer 7.0. With this in mind; it may be the case that it runs and operates fine enough on the new browsers, but moving forward it will also become equally as slow and annoying as some of you have relalised with the partially upgraded Fiestastoc.com. In the interim period; Yes there is nothing wrong with the current layouts etc, but change is good.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask, and I will try my best to answer these.

Thanks and regards

Marc

Test servers?? Surely its a better idea ensure the new board software is compatible with current data and addons using a test server rather than the live one...

Agree with the principle of keeping the software up to date though!

Keep up the good work. Hope FocusSTOC doesn't bomb during the upgrade/testing.
