Eibachs?

Although I've fancied one for a while, I bought the ST on the recommendation that it has poke when you need it, and my 9 year old Toyota Avensis was well beyond its sell by date. Under normal driving, the ST ride is smooth and civilised and it's a great feeling when you leave some wasuk in an Astra standing when he tries to get keen. I notice though that an immediate mod seems to be Eibachs, I understand the advantages of these springs but do they harden up the ride? I should add here that the poke delivered by the 2.5 turbo has added replacement underwear to my wife's Christmas list

They do stiffen the ride up a bit mate, But it not enough to worry about.

Only issue is what for kerbs.

Massive improvement to the way the car handles and the way it looks.

I didn't find that they changed the ride comfort too much although it will obviously be a little harder (it won't remove your fillings though
) but the cornering improves dramatically with the Eibachs on.

Hi,
Had a set of Eibachs fitted to mine yesterday at Profile. I was concerned that the ride was gonna be too hard aswell (especially with the condition of the roads by me) Needn't have worried - if anything the car rides alot better and you notice far less role when going into a corner and overall the car seems far better planted on the road. My advice is go for it - from what I can see its one of the cheapest and best mods you can do to the
IMHO

I thought the
was low enough already and handled great........then i had it lowered and can't believe how
it felt before ! Just had some spacers fitted and im feeling the same again ! Just take it a bit easier over the speed bumps when loaded up !

The Eibachs are grrreat but the remap has to come first. Whatever you won't regret it.

Eibachs are next on my list along with a rarb.
Can't believe I've gone so long without them. My power mods are finished now so it's time for improving the handling and stance

Eibachs improve the handling so much & there is hardly any difference in ride quality.

Get them done, you won't regret it.

How do they effect going over bumps etc? Have to slow down more? How about multi storeys etc?
I just slow down a little more for speed humps (but that's because I'd never hear the end of it if I didn't!!) and I have had no problems with multi-storeys or getting onto the top deck of the Eurotunnel train either.

I avoid them on my way to work, but to be honest, I did before I had it lowered!!!!!

If I find a bump I think will be too much, I take it at an angle if it's at all possible.

We have been on and off the Eurotunnel 4 times recently and have been made to climb to the upper deck. The
took it well, no scrapes at all

EDIT::

Laura & I MUST discuss our posts before we reply, considering we are sat next to each other!!!!!!

Do it do it do it, there is hardly any difference in the ride quality. I got them fitted at Wolf but didnt tell the wife and tbh she didnt notice..........I told her 2 months later, she still cant tell the difference between the Eibachs and the standard set up.

+2 on remap though.
Have to agree, get them fitted. I really couldn't tell much difference with the ride comfort, but certainly handles a lot better. You have nothing to worry about trust me.

Thanks everyone, I'm planning to get the Mountune and exhaust upgrade in the new year and Eibachs are now on the list too
Cheers

I'd go for it mate but be careful, make sure you get the pro kit because the lesser ones make the handling of the car worse than the standard springs. I made that mistake and wasted about £150 with fitting. The ride is very slightly harder but you'll only notice it on very ruff roads. Well worth it though, especially on the country lanes.
