The last few days during heavy rain I have had water dripping on me whilst driving & this morning the carpet by the side of the seat is wet. The door seals etc are good & dry. The headlining by the door seal under the grab handle is wringing wet & the water drips from where the headlining meets the A post plastic.
Any thoughts? I suspect the plastic roof strip sealing or maybe windscreen seal but more likely roof strip? Is it just a case or carefully popping it off & cleaning/sealing under it? Might also be an excuse to get them painted as well!!
Thanks in advance.

Mine was windscreen seal - push up on the corner of the windscreen from the inside and check outside as you do so - if you see any movement of the screen at all, that's your culprit.

It could be the roof rail joints that are leaking, like you mentioned, although the mk3 doesn’t seem to suffer with that as much, like the mk2 did.

I will check both as the worst evidence was in the car this morning after heavy rain last night when the car was parked up. Windscreen seal issues I would expect to show up more whilst driving? Unless it just soaked up whilst driving & then dripped down overnight. Either way with that & crumbling rear arches I am not having much luck atm!

New windscreen, I'm afraid.
Thanks then - I think! Just checked the windscreen & pressing up from the inside the passenger side is solid. On the driver's side all the way from the rear view mirror to the corner it lifts up away from the body.............. I presume Ford just had a 'Friday' batch of windscreens or an apprentice robot doing the screen gluing at some point???

Seriously though - thanks for the tip.

No worries - the guy who changed mine said it was a pretty common occurrence on mk3 Focuses - there's probably a few more soggy headlinings that haven't been noticed yet, as I only spotted mine was leaking when it was literally dripping onto my knee!
