I got these code(s). Changed Map on air intake, changed the boost solenoid, changed air intake, changed wastegate actuator, changed by pass to BOV - curious if anyone has any other ideas? sensors or vacuum line possibly?

What's odd is the code rarely throws. For example I can go on a 5 minute drive and it pops. Then same day go on a couple hours drive straight and nothing. If it comes on, its always coasting lower rpms like2500-3000 (I can push to 4000-4500 and no worries - I haven't though due to code popping still).

Curious if anyone else has advice... I got this car July 2020, fixed it up, took it home to the States, broke ankle, healed and then the code has been popping randomly and intermittently ever since.

DIY is my style - I can take my car to a garage if need be and pay to work on it.

Thanks in advance!

When my MAF was bad it made the car pop, even a aftermarket one did but once i got a bocsh one all when. I see you never said the MAF was replaced.

You sure the waste gate is not leaking or damaged? from the first code and a search on here points to this if the MAP is fine.

Plus are all the sensors genuine or aftermarket?

All sensors genuine. I replaced the MAP (we don't have MAF). I replaced what you are referring to - the one on the air box. (We have 3, two are the same). I got Bosch I believe. Maybe I should go an get an OEM?

I was thinking boost solenoid I replaced might have been bad? And that by the BOV/by pass - that's the one I replaced.

Maybe electrical is dirty?

Hi there
Battery maybe an issue if it’s been standing for a time without being used

You could trace the cables to make sure there are no snagged ones, you could also try a voltmeter/multi-meter on the connectors to make sure they are getting the right volts.

Bosch are fine on these cars but its very rare a aftermarket sensor works, they are very fussy cars.

Just to ask, your location says your in the USA. Are you on about a mk2 or the AU XR5? I never knew the USA had the mk2 unless it was imported.

ST2 I'm informed is a middle grade. You can tell by the seats and other things. MK2 I presume is something else (dare I say European?).

I got this car in Mexico to be frank... It was a salvage from the same town I currently reside in in the United States as ironic as that is (I took my car for new tires and the shop manager recognized my car and informed me it was his buddies till he crashed it and salvaged out) - small world!!!

So maybe go OEM MAP on the air intake?

Under the car today noticed the boost solenoid tubes where like criss crossing so I fixed that. Pulled electrical plug and cleaned it as well. Left car overnight on base at the shop and going back tomorrow to finish the work on the valve cover I have going (kit was missing two vital pieces).

Anything else I can look into tomorrow while I have it at the auto skills center? They have stalls to raise the vehicle so if anything it's worth checking seeing as I will be there already!
