QUOTE(The Engineer @ 21 Dec 2009, 11:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Has anyone fitted the PDUK downpipe and come across that the top of it (think its called the flange, not sure thought?) wear it bolds on to the turbo is not welded at the correct angle. About 1 degree off which then throws the whole system off, the only way around this issue was to bend the mounts and lower the sports cat a wee bit. As to reduce the stress on the whole system, which before has the mounts at full stretch with no play!
The system was fitted by Profile and so the mechanical ability doing this job was the best you can get.
Also turns out they had other car in last week with another PDUK downpipe wear the welding of the top part was off too. So it is not just a one off!
Would like to say thanks to Gary and the boys for sorting the issue and keeping me informed.
But just wanted people's view on the downpipe if they had fitted them?
p.s Least all the downpipe bolts came out without fuss and did not snap.
And the exhaust sounds sooooooo goood, 3000rpm change massive backfire, quality.
Bit late now but I'd have suggested filing the holes in the flange to slots in the direction needed bring the downpipe back to the right angle. Probably wouldn't take much as the small error is being magnified by the overall length of the downpipe. and you should still get good clamping with the big washers off the downpipe bolts.
