Hello all,

Got a coolant issue, it's currently leaking out. Managed to find the root cause where it's leaking, but not sure what the part is called.

I have attached some images below, if someone can help me out with the name of the part - I'd highly appriciate it!

Also, what is the cause of this to be leaking? I've noticed the coolant tends to be emptied quickly when putting my foot down on the accelerator.. but when driving steady, coolant is slowly emptied.

with a bit of luck it might just be the gasket where it bolts to the head, but theres no way of knowing until its removed ,they usually have a rubber gasket type affair

I've took it over to Ford garage, had a quick word with them.

They get their stuff from Parts Plus. They've given me a price of £223 for the whole thermostat housing.

Will be dissembling it double check what's happening before buying.

Just an update.

Managed to replace the whole thermostat housing, was a big pain to get the bolt at the back.

The issue seemed to be just the gasket seal has eroded, hence the reason it was leaking from the side of the thermostat housing.

Ended up replacing the whole part just incase.

plastic stat housings have a tendancy to warp so probably a good idea that you replaced the whole thing,piece of mind etc

Imagine how good you would have felt fixing the problem for a pound though 😂 Good job fixing it yourself though and @the radman is right re. the peace of mind.
