This was asked on another forum without being answered, and something I think about every time I open the bonnet - attached to the front of the fusebox in the engine bay is a "spare" connector. Does anybody know what it's for?

Maybe a diagnostic port? Seems strange it is open to the elements though & not capped off to protect it? Is it connected to anything inside the fusebox? If so you could look in your manual at the fuse descriptions to say what they say as it might give you a clue?
