Hi all
I currently have a Collins Performance dumpvalve installed, (i know there not to everyones taste but i rate them!) However i really miss the engine noise courtesy of the Symposer unit & pipe (currently removed & plugged as followed by instructions) i was just wondering if i could have the best of both worlds and some how re-fit the symposer leaving the dumpvalve in place?? Has anyone managed to do this?!

Much Appricated

I really loved the grunt from the engine, taking off the symposer in my case put an end this did you have to take it off to fit yours??

guys have just fitted a colins dump valve and fitting kit to my st ,so its possible !
i still have the symphoser all up and runing due to the conecting kit that they do specifcally for the collins dump valve.
got it from matt lewis motorsport, contact details are as follows ...01922-692424 and you should be able to get the kit from them.
mine sounds realy load and defo not a sneeze as some have said about the baileys dv 26 .
hope this helps you .
Hey gaz
I have a forge which i took off ages ago for the same reason....
I've ordered the Bailey fitting kit direct off Bailey which they said should work with my Forge Twin piston Dv.
Price was about £69 inc vat (which included £7-£9 delivery). He then asked if was a member of this forum, and because i was he knocked off the delivery charge.
Therefore the total was approx £60 for the silicone hose "Y" piece, the skinny vacuum hose, jubliee clips, plastic T piece, etc (all u need to fit it)
Im fitting it tomorrow with my old Forge DV so if it works i'll let everyone know on here!

Hi mate, I got the DV and fitting kit from Matt Lewis MS but the instructions on fitting it said the Symphoser had to be removed, Is this a seperate kit they do then in order to keep the Symphoser?!
Hope so i'll be ringing them first thing!!

Cheers!

I happen to have a hose (in orange) where you can have the DV and it also plumbs into the symposer.

Never got around fitting it and as I dont run with a DV now its surplus to requirements. PM me is anyone wants it for a cheapie price.

Cheers

Martin
Perfect timing Martin................ nottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!

gaz ...yes they do seperate kit to allow you to keep symphoser ,see your PM mate .
So can you use the fitting kit for all the DVs? i.e. DV26, Collins, Forge, Turbosmart whatever it is??
Seems so... although i havent done it yet.
The Y piece that came this morning has a 25mm end to fit on the DV.
I should have checked this because my forge has a 32 or 33mm fitting so wont fit on.
Not a problem tho, gonna have a drive to Demon tweeks in the morning to pick up a samco 32mm-25mm reducer silicone pipe, only a tenner.

I'm guessing the outside diameter for the reducer is 25mm and the inner diameter of the fitting kit is 25mm then? reducer slots inside?
Well... fitted this today.
had to buy a 25-32mm converter pipe and a 2" long ribbed aluminium tube to link the 25mm ends together (with a jubilee clip on the ends of both parts to hold it. Then the 32mm end fit snugly onto the base of the DV. Really fiddly to do, especially refitting the symposer box to the samco "y" hose.
Really chuffed with the sound as I obv still have the 5 pot growl from the symposer.
As somebody else said, when i first started the car i got a very loud pop from the exhaust... and theres generally more popping when driving.

And the only thing that went wrong was losing one of the screws that hold the cam belt cover on.... so need to try and get one of those from somewhere.
Something else dropped into the engine so after 5 mins sh1tting myself, i thought "ooo well, that will hopefully just fall out in the road"
Do what I did, just reconnect the pipe that goe over the engine and leave it so that it is pointing directly at the DV. I had engine noise and DV pppssssshhhhtt to. However it does get a bit wearing after a while so have since removed it all.
I'll get some tomorrow mate...
hearing another noise too which im a tad worried about....
Like a squeeling just before you take your foot off the pedal to hear the pshhhh

Finally got round to fitting the Pumabuild pipe to allow me to retian the Symposer and collins Dump valve, not much room down there but never the less did it
, all seemed ok but now the dump valve dosen't sound that loud
, going to check all jubilee clips today, does the Symposer take some boost away? I thought it was sealed off / blocked inside to allow the noise through? If all fails then it's going to be the Dump valve that stays on!

Hey Gaz
Ive been running the symposer and the DV for a couple of weeks.
Definately hearing 100% of both, the DV is very loud.
This was the Forge, not sure how loud it is comparedto others but sounded great!
Oh and im running all the mods, so boost is upto 1.2bar. If your on the standard map, then Psshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wont be as loud as if you had a remap.
