Clutch Slip

I can't offer you advise on the mark 4 but certainly sounds clutch.

On my MK2 the original clutch was still going strong well past 100k but after remapping it just couldn't hold the power. Upgraded to the rs clutch and perfect but...

After giving her some abuse the clutch does start to slip. The friction plates get hot and less grippy so it can't hold the power until I ease off on her a bit.

I'm assuming you don't actually need to stop the car and leave everything to cool, 10-15 minutes of steady driving should do the same thing. But asking the clutch to handle more and more power and it will slip faster and faster.

Ford won't find a problem with it if there's no problem. It's probably best they don't give your car the beans and over heat the clutch.... But if the mk4 clutch can't handle increases of power either I assume there are upgrades out there, I've just never looked

I thought the rs clutch was good for 400bhp 🤔
Something around there.

My map has an aggressive torque curve, so after you've given her some full throttle gear changes the clutch starts to warm up, then starts to slip.

One morning a while ago I went out to find out approximately what my 0-60 time was like with the diff, we've got some perfect roads for that around here (dead straight and flat for miles, national limit) after about half dozen hard launches, my clutch was starting to slip so I couldn't continue.

I'm sure you can imagine the abuse my clutch took that morning, but she still drove perfectly without slipping for normal driving, and handled hard launches again after a bit of a break.
