Hi I've got a quick question for someone

I have a ford focus mk2 st-3 2010

Is it normal for the clutch to be loose bottom end (pushed in) and then stiffer half way up. Usually where it bites.

Is there anyway for it to be the same stiffness all the way through pushing the pedal in.

Thanks.

The RS clutch is noticeably stiffer all through the travel over the ST one as far as I know? Plus you only really need to upgrade an ST one to an RS one if the car is mapped to that sort of bhp. Fitting it to a standard car is overkill - and expensive for the sake of it. However 100K for a clutch on an ST is good going if it is the original one so you might be due a new one anyway. Does it slip if you put the car into a high gear at a fairly low speed and then floor the loud pedal? If not than as Alb suggests I would look to the ancillary bits like springs etc
