Seems i have another on going issue this one now with the clutch
!!, on a motorway in either 5th or 6th at 3500 rpm when putting my foot down it slips up to 4000 rpm then comes back down to 3500 rpm the bizzare thing is its only in these gears and not everytime
?? Is this the beginning of my clutch wearing out?? Cars only done 28K miles and never does this when drivin hard in 1st 2nd and 3rd!!

there was a huge debate on this forum about whether there was a batch of clutches that is dodgy or certain remaps are at fault.

you have clutch slip unfortunately and it aint going to get better
are you running a remap of sorts?

Is your car remapped Gaz, and I'll take a wild stab in the dark it's a 2007 model?

Mine's being doing it for the past year or so, but only in damp weather, see my clutch slip thread.

BTW, I'm just over in Barrowford, 3 door blue ST.

Could do to compare really, Dream weaver, give us a shout if your knocking around anywhere nr Bly its a 56 plate too.. Is it likely to get worse from now on then??!

It is likely it will get worse over time. I'm using one of the more popular DS mapping systems and it has progressed from slipping in 5th and 6th to 4th over time.
Redundancy could put a dampener on my new clutch for Xmas.

An RS clutch was on the cards, but now eating for the next few months and making the car payments until new employment turns up might take precedence.

Yes the new RS clutch and I would not let Ford anywhere near it.

There are a number of very good specialists who are offering supply and fitting. A few peeps here have had done already. Type 'clutch' into the search above and have a quick scroll through. Loads of info.
Here is one of the offers at the moment, if price still stands that is.CLICK ME
