Clunking Noise From Gear Box

Hey folks av had my ST-3 for about a month now and i have noticed a, the only way to describe it is a clunking noise when i change from first to second gear at low speeds 5-10mph any1 have any idea what it could be, i have still got a years warranty left

skip through the RS bits if you want to cure it completely you need a vibratechnics replacement mount,some love em some hate em, i,m the former

I had the same problem, try the gear box mounting bolt which i think is located under the battery housing, half a turn and problem solved!!!!!!

Check and double check that this bolt is nice and tight, mine came loose last week and dropped the gearbox. The gearbox was fine but it shattered my drive shaft. Bad design IMO, just one bolt holding up the gearbox surely it should have a better setup than that

I also had exactly the same problem. The Lower gearbox mount otherwise known as the torque restrictor was the cause. Visibly it looked OK but just needed tightening up and the problem was cured.
i know this is an old thread but iv got a similar clunking, anyone got a pic of the bolt that needs tightening up by anychance?
