I have takern my car to my local Ford dealer today to have a new oil filter housing replaced due to a broken diaphram. When i was driving my car out of there car park i noticed lots of blue smoke which was coming out of the exhausts
. This wasn't the case when i took the car there. They took the car back into there workshop and found the oil breather pipe was broken in half. Now i'm guessing that this may have broke when they fitted the new part. Does anyone know if this will cause the car to smoke badly? Ford didn't seem to know

QUOTE(Alb @ 11 Jan 2010, 08:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If it resulted in oil mist getting into the intake it sounds feasible.

Thankyou Alb

lucky you didn't pick it up when it was dark? I wonder why they didn't test it after?

I hope so Phil. When i looked under the bonnet with the machanic i see my induction kit wasn't connected at one end with the pipe sucking in nice warm air. He told me it doesn't fit so he didn't bother connecting it or even tell me about. It was fine when i took it in but then this is the secound time they have done this
. I don't know why i go back there
.

We need a Profile Automotive down south

You might only be able to book the car in when she is working

The ST lives again
. Turns out that if your oil breather pipe is broken you do get lots of blue smoke out of the exhausts. Ford have upgraded this part from brittle plastic to rubber.

Part number 1503111. Current cost £29.82 inc vat
