Sorry not to sure were to put this

Well went out for a drive tonight and for a change was driving slowly but wen i put my foot down a little bit the car would only accelerate to 3,500 rpm then hold back will go pass this but very slowly. Im thinking the maf could be to blame but does any 1 have any ideas.

3500rpm is the limit it is held to if you hold in the clutch, so possibly a sensor relating to the clutch could be the issue? It doesn't know you have released the pedal and continues to limit it maybe? Does it rev normally up to that point and then stop? What happens if you are stationary and have the car in neutral and try to rev past 3500?

How warm was the car? Had you been driving for a while or was the car not up to temp? On the odd occasion ( not often) I have accidently gone over 3.5k when cold the car seems very reluctant (red light comes on with mod c though) just a thought ....

Cheers
The car was very warm been driving it for a bit, but it hapens if your stood still with clutch down doe up and does it drving clutch down or up pull really well to the rev then it like hitting a brick wall just stops and gains speen very slowly. Im confused now
Is it doing it at exactly 3500rpm? That is where the rev limiter kicks in when the clutch is engaged, it's sounding very much like a sensor issue to me. Get a ford garage to poke your ECU
This should only happen in first gear when stationary you can bury the accelerator to the floor but the engine will not rev above 3500rpm.

Its also known as launch control.

Its a bit hard to tell while driving but looks like its some were between 3,500 and 4
Well fingers crossed i have sorted the problem

I have a gen 2 k&n kit and heard that thay can mess the maff up so i changed the filter for a non oiled 1 a stainless steel 1 and clean out the maff and all is good. Think the oils in the finlter was clogging up the maff.
