Ok - can anyone tell me why my petrol cap says Ford recommend Bp Fuel

is there really a benefit to using BP fuel in an ST ?

That would be due to BP sponsoring the ford WRC rally cars .... No advantage at all in my opinion of using BP fuel. Dreamscience have proven on their rolling road that the only high octane fuels to give a performance advantage in the

No I dont think so really.I think the consensus is that Fuel is fuel but Supermarket fuel does not contain the cleaning additives that are good for the engine. However plenty of members put Supermarket fuel in like super unleaded, Tesco 99 etc. I think there is a slight difference on performance with higher octance juice, but mainly on a remapped car.When I bought my car in a pug garage the guy recommended against regular use of Supermarket juice but im not sure if there is any real truth in this (he said it blocks up particle filters but we aint got diesels!) ?Plenty of threads on this though. I like the BP garage as for some reason I tend to see nice cars going there Sierra cossies etc..

I never knew that, strange as the one I 'feel' makes the most difference is shell VPower.

Works for me though as I like tesco SUL, its usually a penny cheaper than v power and according to the tesco website a bit greener too http://www.greenergy.com/tesco_99_octane/index.html

Dont use BP fuel at a certain garage near me. 2 months ago papers reported that around 12 cars had broke down after filling with petrol. Turns out to be water in the petrol
