Hello and thanks in advance, dnt no if it is a prob or if the gauge is more of a display piece then instrument? When on boost either quarter or half or even when just under bar(b/f stg2), the needle will flick up about a needle width mybe sumtimes more, could this be the solinoid,Standard recurc valve Playing up ? Or is it normal, any help apriciated,thanks

mine did exactly the same , i swapped the boost control solenoid and it stopped doing it . their about £40 from ford i think

I changed my boost solenoid cause i was only getting 1/4 boost but now with the new one it spikes slightly to just below the redline (1bar) I think thats normal though.

In the slippy conditions the esp mucks about with the boost!
It seems to restrict it a little and then when you lift off you get a spike.
I had this today but when I turned the esp off I had a little more boost and no spike.
Did light up the tyres though

The engine takes a finite time to respond to change of power demand so a small overshoot is normal.
