One of my existing led bulbs has given up and as they were bought some time ago I wondered if there are any ones available which people have found to be good.

Well made and I had them for well over a year. Don't know if they're the colour for you though...

i just bought red 501 bulbs from my local spares centre , only cost 50p ... there not really bright and just give a nice red glow ...

To 'fit' these, is it a case of just pushing them into the holes in the footwell?

But! if for any reason they don't work once fitted then pull them out turn them round and refit
