Anyone Got Rid Of Eibachs

307 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Storm
Ever since I've had my Eibachs fitted I've had no end of trouble. Steering out, 2 new front shock bearings destroyed, wheels been re-balanced and re-alligned twice in 9 months, continual banging from front end. Car went into Ford today and said no visible sign of a problem but specialist took it out and said no doubt there was a steering problem and he's an ST expert (owner, modder etc) he said the best way to cure would be to have originals put back on.

Shame, as I loved the stance it gave but this is getting ridiculous.

They were fitted by a local garage, Guy there does a fair bit of work for me and seems ok. Ever since day 1 I've had problems with them. Clunking and banging on hard lock turns, strange noises when breaking and turning, all very odd.

Like I said, getting so fed up with them I may go back to stock.
Something must be wrong regarding either with the springs or the install of the springs.

We install many sets each month and never hear of any problems - furthermore this is a Ford approved fitments - Ford would not accept parts that created the list of problems which you seem to be experiencing.

Have you been supplied with the correct kit? - The front springs should be part numbered F11-84-006-07-VA and the rears F11-35-016-05-HA

I do get the ocassional crashing over potholes but overall the ride is not much different to standard, as Gary says it sounds like you may have a fitting problem or maybe the wrong part.

We had this problem with the banging and knocking on tight turns. We took it back to the garage and a couple of turns of the ratchet to tighten the anti roll bar did the trick!!

Apart from that, never had a problem at all with them and am more than happy
