Anthracite Or Gunmetal?

582 Views 26 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Glenster
I've decided to get my pre-facelift standard alloys refurbished but not sure if I want anthracite or gunmetal on my black ST. Definitely don't want black. Opinions and any pics welcome please.

Depends how dark the gunmetal is really! If its too light it will look poo!

As far as I am aware, the gun metal that I am getting from px wheels is quite dark. With my car being red any colour change will make a big difference.
These are what i call my grey wheels. They are supposed to be anthracite

Thanks for the quick replies and the pics everyone, very grateful. I'm going with PX wheels like ReidyST. Don't really want gay wheels, would have to paint the calipers pink!!!
I'm leaning towards anthracite at the moment. The PX wheels website www.pxwheels.com shows the different colour finishes. I'm just a bit worried that the anthracite will look too close to black.

I saw the gunmetal ones on ebay and I phoned PX wheels and ordered them. When I got home, I had an email from them which said that they hadn't realised they'd already been sold and I'd have to wait 1-2 weeks for mine. As I'd already paid for them, that got me thinking that I could choose a different colour if I wanted it. I'd seen your post yesterday which said that you had bought some gunmetal ones from them so obviously they have sold your set twice!!! I guess that means I'll get your old ones once they've refurbished them!!!

Ah, so I got in there just before you did
I do apologise.

So, If by some miracle you do get my wheels then I can assure you that they are in A1 condition with no buckles or dents. There is one small scuff on one of the front ones that is hardly worth a mentioning...............ooops, I just did

Its their mistake but I'm not bothered, don't mind waiting a week or two. Glad to hear my prospective new wheels are in great condition though!!!

Chris, your car looks brilliant and the gunmetal wheels look spot on. Like Fishface said, if the gunmetal was too light it woulkd look poo but yours are pefect. And just when I'd decided on anthracite too!!!! Decisions decisions.....

When I got them the guy explained that the only difference between these and anthracite is that anthracite has a brown tinge to them.

I agree, the gunmetal looks just right, a bit darker than I thought it would be which is perfect. Sounds like you've got your weekend jobs sorted then.
