Alternator Failure??

Just pulled up at home and was reverse parking when suddenly got a high pitched whining and the battery light came on.

does it sound like the alternator? does to me.

just had a thought, I changed the footwell lights to blue LED's a few days ago, could this be anything to do with it or is it just a nasty coincidence?

The LED's would not made any difference
- just one of things - Let us know if we can be off any help

Is the car yours from new ? Ford May contribute towards the cost of a replacement if so

no second hand i'm afraid

does anybody know what alternator is used.. part/serial number etc.?

yeah read the entire thread but no part/serial numbers, was trying to source one over the internet.
