Almost Time To Say Goodbye To My St!

It's been a fantastic 2 years of ST ownership (ST3 07 plate from new) but I decided in August that it was time to replace it with something new, after narrowing it down to either the new Focus RS or Audi S3 it was time for some prices. In reality I didn't expect to get the Audi on my budget as with the extras that I wanted the list price was coming in at almost £33k with the RS costing almost 28K (Lux pack 1 with leather) but surprisingly the cost to change for the RS was almost £17,800 and the cost to change for the S3 was ..... £18,500!!!
As expected there was hardly any discount on the RS (a token 1% of the base price only (through my employer)) as well as a pretty
trade in value but the Audi dealer managed to give me a healthy discount and a better trade in price for my ST. This now meant some very hard choices but when it came down to it I could not get away from the fact that
a) Ford wanted me to wait until next March plus the higher than expected cost to change (which would increase even more due to the VAT increase from Jan)
b) Audi were giving me such a great deal for a hell of a lot of car (which in all honesty has better engineering, a better badge and in standard form better performance (although I admit probably not the thrill))

Now don't get me wrong, I love fast Fords but I could not justify the cost and the wait so needless to say on September 1st I placed my order with Audi for the following car:

3 Door S3 S-Tronic (DSG) in Ibis White
Privacy Glass
Accoustic Rear Parking System
Elec Folding Door Mirrors
Symphony Audio
Bose Amplifier + Speaker System
I-Pod Connection
Adaptive Xenons
Black Leather Bucket Seats (RS4 style)
Black Styling Pack
Interior Light Pack

All this on top of the standard S3 goodies (climate, heated seats, LED lighting, 4WD etc etc) and the deal was too good to pass on so on either Monday or Tuesday I will be saying goodbye to my much loved ST (and I will definately miss the sound, the fun and the memories of a great car) and hello to an Audi (for the first time I might add, always been a Ford man).
I will be sad to see it go as it has definately been the best car I have ever owned
