Hi,

All being well next week im picking my ST up. The car is just coming upto 3 years old.

Could anyone tell me what the car needs doing to it for the 3rd year service and what sort of price i should be looking to pay?

Thanks alot,

Are they doing the service for you before you pick it up? The 3rd year service is the big one where they change the plugs etc... I've had a few quotes and they have all been around the £300 mark...

Mate you'll absolutely love it! I had a 172 cup and i thought that was good untill i got this. I would definately recommend an upgrade too. Mountune 260bhp is awesome
. Lots of different options tho. Just the long wait now

Completely agree. My 182 was brilliant. I only changed as i owned it for 2 years and another Clio for 18months prior to that. (With an ST170 for 6months in the middle).

TBH finding a car that is significantly better than the 182 has proven difficult as the 182 is so good at what it does. The ST just feels a slightly more refined/grown up version of the 182 in some respects.

Ill be leaving the ST standard until July due to insurance reasons as im currently with Direct Line who dont like mods. At which point ill be looking into my options. Might start buying parts as i see them for sale on the forum etc ready for July at which point i can slap them on and get the car mapped.

You're right. Directline think mods are the devil's work. They quoted me an extra £400 quid for a remap so I switched insurance companies to Greenlight who charged me less than half than what Directline quoted for a standard car!

Then after a year they decided that my postcode insulted them and would not renew with me

Now I'm with Brentacre and they are really good and don't charge admin fees for upgrades up to your agreed bhp limit

How many no claims have you got? If you have 5 or more any extra years dont really make a difference in price in my experience so it might be worth switching now

Ive only got 3 yrs ncb at the min. Also had a non fault accident earlier this year so really could do with the extra years ncb if im honest.

Will defo try Brentacre in the future, ive been insured with Greenlight in the past and whilst they were once unbeatable they dont come close price wise anymore which is a shame

Hi Craig,

Well i went into my local Ford dealer today to make a few enquires.

Firstly to see what warranty work my car had had done to it in its life...the answer - not one piece which is good i guess.

Secondly how much for a 3rd year service - £205. He confirmed that its for a MAJOR service on an ST. I was expecting much higher that that, a minor service is £110 iirc.

So yup £230 inc an mot sounds very good to me.

I was with elephant when i had an accident and all i can say is that i have told all of my mates to stay well clear of them, they messed me about for 4 months before i got my payout, and that was only because i went to the insurance onbudsman!
. If im not wrong im sure that the 10 months insurance only counts as a years NCB with Elephant, if you go anywhere else they wont except it as a full year.

Im with Chris Knott at the moment, last year i was with adrian flux who were good, i only changed because the renewal from them was more expensive than the year before for some reason?? Chris Knott beat my best quote by about 20 quid i think, you also get discount with them if you are a paid up member on here
