So the audi engine decided to **** itself royally...this has forced me to get the focus ready for daily duty.Car is FINALLY going away tomorrow for:

-Oil change
-Aux belts
-Shock mountings
-New coilovers
-Control arms
-Heater matrix hoses
-Oil cooler hoses
-Sunroof leak
-Boost gauge fitment
-Sort out overboost issue

I will be eating grass for the next month or two but excited to get my focus back.It is long overdue.

Apparently my cooling system was flushed and this is fresh coolant🤣.Wheel nuts were left loose.Volt guage is missing.Steering wheel, door handle and arm rest is covered in grease.

Coolant bottle was crystal clear before the car went in but according to the mech,"it was like that" when asked why it's stained.Ended up not doing half of the planned work.

On a positive note.Car drives so much better with the new coilovers in.Night and day difference though I may need to remove the rear adjustors because the wheel gap is huge despite them being turned all the way down.

Overboost issue seemed to have vanished some how.Actuator received a little more preload so now boost peaks at 1.5bar and settles at around 1.1-1.2bar.

Fitted lip #4.Hopefully this one lasts lol

The body of my car is in a sad sad state.I need to send it to get the bumpers and skirts realigned as well as a few paint issues sorted.

The bootlid and bonnet are the worst but I can't decide between getting them resprayed or wrapped in a glossy carbon fibre.

So I've found some seat brackets that should allow me to replace the recaros with something a little more modern looking. From the little research I've done, there is a diode that fits into the factory plug to allow the airbag system to function normally.I'm not too phased by losing the heater function.

Still on the fence.(Either this route or recover the oem seats)

Thought about red...I guess it's common for a reason.I will probably end up going that route.

Boost/vacuum leaks sorted. The line to the recirc broke.Took it for a spin around the block and it felt super healthy for 75% of the drive until it went into limp mode.I scanned it and got a P0234 overboost code.

I would go for yellow or something crazy like pink or light violet. Foliatec has a nice tan shade, worth checking their options. Regarding the overboost issue, if its not the vacuum valve then it might be from the actuator settings. I had this issue when I fitted the collins actuator for a friend.

Regarding the seats, you can buy a cheap set of heated seats from a normal focus and move the pads into the new seats. I have bought a set for mine but never got time to fit them.

Nice progress mate, love it with the new wheels.

Thanks bud

This overboost issue is a weird one.I initially experienced it and sent it in to get checked out.The mechanic said he found no issues and the car was not going into limp mode with him.He added more pre-load to the actuator so boost peaks at 1.5bar/21 psi and tapers to 1.2bar/17.4psi.

Got the car back and it performed really well until the vacuum leak. Now that the vacuum leak is sorted, the overboost issue is back.I need to replace the fuel pressure sensor first but I think I will get myself a vacuum pump and set the actuator myself.

Never ends with these cars.

Cleared the fault codes and did some mileage over the weekend.Did a few hard pulls as well as cruising and it seems the overboost issue is gone for now.

The only codes are P0088 and P0193 if I remember correctly so I'll order a new fuel pressure sensor this weekend.

So I ended up getting a good deal on a GT3076 on black Friday..

My thought behind this is the lower boost needed to make the same power with higher boost on a hybrid/k16 would be easier on the engine.Eventually I will forge it but for now the stock engine will do.2025 is hopefully going to be a good year!
