Well thanks to a brucey bonus from the tax man I'm treating the st. Plans are cooler plugs, air tech cooler, sports cat and exhaust plus map from collins, yum! Problem is I can't decide on the exhaust, narrowed it down to mongoose or miltek.now I'm 56 soon but still young at heart I like a nice deep tone but not ott loud.query is if I pair the sports cat with a non res will it be to much or res be to little, any experience or opinions appreciated. You tube really doesn't help all sound similar on I pad lol

I'd highly recommend a custom exhaust. You can choose your tips you can choose exactly what sound you want and it is usually quite a bit cheaper. I've just been quoted 499 fitted for a custom one. They go through with you exactly what noise you want to achieve.
Problem with custom exhausts is, theyre only as good as the guy welding them, most are only franchises whos welders have only had a few weeks training, Ive seen some good and bad, I speak from experience of being a fabricator/welder mechanical engineer for nearly forty years. Mongoose and Milltek are both excellent systems.
If I was ever going for a custom exhaust I take it to unique exhausts in Stafford guy called Phil does amazing work and doesn't charge the earth , depends on your location though .
At least with Miltek Mongoose etc your kind of guaranteed the quality no matter where you are 👍

I found Longlife good for custom exhaust when I had the MK3 ST.
If you want some extra noise get a Ramair induction on it will never hear the exhaust again mine is mental loud
