Hi all,

 

so, once lockdown is over.....at some point....

 

I'm going to sell the ST. 

 

I've had my fun but I now really want a van. 

 

wondered if you lot could help with a price point? 

 

what should I be asking for: 

 

2005, MK2

90k on the clock

MOT June

ST3 so all the toys

double din pioneer stereo (but might remove this as probably go in the new van) 

full service less than 1000 miles ago

RAM air

Absolutely every powerflex bush you can get

replaced the driveshafts. 

New discs and pads all round

passenger door lock replaced so it actually works haha

new keys 

could probably add the AS CAIS and Airtec intercooler if it added to the price rather than selling them seperate. 

 

Just after some advice before I list it. I doubt i'll list it until the end of lockdown as I don't want to risk it but keen to have some advice as to what it's possibly worth.

As is or with parts and stereo? I mean I dont mind buying a oem stereo to put back in if the new one doesnt add to the value. Same with the parts, happy to add them if theyre adding but if not might be easier to sell seperate

Id have a look at comparable ST's for sale like yours with similar mods and mileage and go around that price point.
The problem you may get now is that so many people are out of work, petrol price rising daily and a £330 road tax bill to add to the mix I fear the value of these wonderful cars will depreciate rather quickly, which is a shame.

IMO Id put old stereo back in especially if you will you it on van

Sell parts separate

Put on auto trader £3995 can always reduce it if not sold

Generally old cars like mk2 st and wrx that age have gone up in value since virus
again IMO they will steadily rise

yeah think i'll go that route. Parts now on ebay, offer in for a replacement radio. Will put it on auto trader once lockdown ends I think. Don't really want tyre kickers coming round with a lockdown on.

What sort of overall condition in terms of body, paint, wheels etc?

 

Personally I'd be thinking around £2500 - £2800.

Christ I hope not!

In fact currently the cheapest st on autotrader below 100,000 miles is £3,900 so Im hopeful that £3.500+ is achievable

I suppose as its an early example and low mileage, you could use that as the main selling point, depending on where you are, I know someone who is after buying an ST and has around the 3500 mark to spend?
He may travel though, obviously after lockdown 3.
Will you be advertising it on here mate?

I will be yeah. To be honest Id rather sell to someone on here as you guys appreciate the work done and would probably mess me about less than a non oc member.

But yeah, cant do anything till after lockdown, but Id be happy with £3,500 in all reality, for that Id probably swap back to the Sony stereo. The AS CAIS and intercooler are on eBay now so they wouldnt come with it but its a pretty sorted car, still things to do as ever but I think if someone wanted to go further a lot of the boring stuff is sorted, I kinda went overboard especially doing the full power flex thing.

If hes interested though Id tell him to think about the as cais ive got for sale, I mean the cars got ram air but I think it'd be a lot better with the CAIS kit

i bought mine start of december buddy,

2006 st-3 with 91k with fsh all stamped up,recent new belt/water pump,milltek cat back exhaust but rest completely standard.

mint recently refurbed alloys,4 new pirelli tyres all round and new grooved discs and pads all round

and a fresh mot from day of private sale.

it was up at 3,795 but seller finaly accepted my offer of 3200.

 

just to give you a rough idea of spec/prices.

Stick it up for 4K and see how you go, sell parts separately, had mine up in the first lockdown, sold it within four days, so I wouldnt worry too much about the lockdown spoiling things.
