Just interested in to know about your low mileage pfl's on here and their history with regards to their low mileage for an 13+ year old car

mines an 06 st-3 in silver with 90k and fsh with cambelt and water pump done.no mods at all except a milltek cat back, drives stunning.

best example ive had yet.

had 1 orange 2006 that had done 69k with fsh stamped up but no reciepts,

but it had no cambelt and water pump done ,

as they were going on it not being at the mileage yet,but its the mileage or 10 yrs, whichever is sooner i believe.

that was standard except a scorpion cat back i had to fit as std exhaust had rotted when i took it to be de res.

my blue st-2 06 had 133k on with water pump cambelt and block mod done and drove fantastic.

never missed a beat.

that had a kms sec 18,de cat,ram air group a and rs ecu holder.

id rather have a few more miles on the clock and certain services done and proof with reciepts etc.

low miles doesnt always mean better in my book.

FWIW - my 126k mile 2006 ST has so little history (other than mods) I find it difficult to remember it. Not including batteries, brakes and tyres which I don't see as part of history and have had to be replaced at what I'd say are normal intervals.

So going backwards, (this old git has issues trying to remember what happened yesterday) this year saw new driveshafts and shock absorbers to replace the OE ones, Alternator replaced about 18 months ago. I've had a couple of wheel bearings replaced around 2/3 years ago and 3/4 years ago. Lower front arm front and back bushes replaced with Hardrace from Andy about six years ago. OE alternator lasted 3.5 years. Anyone remember the HUGE thread on 3 year old PFL mk 2 alternator failures at 3 years old? The replacement lasted a good number of years and was replaced about 18 months ago as said. Had a few boost controllers and one MAF.

Errrr..... struggling to remember anything else........

Mods in chronological order this time. Car was standard and just under 3 years old when I bought it from my Son who had bought it new. 5 days later it had a stage 2 map. The following year a Mongoose backbox (2010) . The year after the rest of the turbo back mongoose exhaust and sports CAT plus an Airtech intercooler and CAIS (2011). RS clutch kit + RS lower torque mount Stage 3 map about 3/4 years later along with the block mod/cambelt/camshaft oil seals/]/waterpump/aux belts (2014/15). This was at about 79k miles and that's where the modding stopped.

I retired in 2010 so saw a big reduction in my annual mileage from about 20-25k to between 5 and 7.5k. All in all, I don't have anything to moan about and have no plans to sell it anytime soon.

My 07 plate has slightly over 70k now, I'm the 6th owner IIRC, I bought it on 48k around 4 years ago, nothing major has gone wrong, just the alternator, which I'm not sure if it was the original or not, but was a ford unit, which I replaced with a denso, which is also stamped on the ford unit.
Touch wood I don't have any major issues for a while, I'm slowly working through replacing different things that are wearing out, and adding a bit of personalisation.

Mines a 59 plate which has just turned 125.000, had it nearly 4 years now, its never missed a beat. I think it needs some rear suspension bits but apart from that its a beaST.
Its passed the last 5 m.o.t's with no advisories aswell.
That's what I need to do on mine, I'm planning on removing the subframe, resealing the underside, and rebuild the rear end with all new hard race bushes, including the trailing arms, something to look forward to next summer I hope.

I just want the rear arb, stainless rear drop links and maybe some eibach pro......
However, I do find myself recently looking on fleabay and the likes at Mk7 Golfs, I'm an impulsive person when it comes to cars, if I like it, I've got the money and the deals good, ill buy it.
It is hard trying to find a car that has as much character as the Focus though...I just like the styling of the mk7 Golf.

im the same buddy.

im hoping to keep the st though as well, nice ones are getting harder to find

and i love the shape and styling and theyre hard to replace for sound and character and that engine,

ive had 2 and missed both more than i thought i would, theyre a car you really bond with.

ill get something newer and more modern to go with it.

i nearly bought a 2012 vxr astra gtc (276bhp as standard) a few weeks ago in white with all the extras but i just couldnt do it.

to many scare stories with vauxhalls.

also looked at several mk3 st's and the estate.

its a hard choice these days.

everyone raves about the meganes etc but i just cant buy another reno, had the 172,182 and 197 sport

and although fun, gearbox issues and terrible build quality rule them out.

my st3 has just covered 115,000 miles. It had a mountune 260 kit fitted in its first year. An enthusiast must have bought it at some point because it a block mod done at at around 70,000. It has been like that untill i have had it and then i changed to cp320 with supporting mods.

past mots have just been ,tyres , cv boots, bulbs ect. No dramas

Our PFL is like a family pet. My brother bought it new in 07 with the Mountune 260 already installed or got done shortly after, can't remember.
I put a few thousand miles on the clock running my mum to visit her relatives in Skye and all over the Highlands with never a hiccup and many happy memories

About five years ago my husband bought it for ourselves and tuned it big time , it had only done about 40k by then.
Autotech/WRtuning stage4 conversion ,which includes K16 turbo , as I'm sure you all know. We also got the tuner to drop in a couple of Newman cams while he had the bonnet up. A worthwhile mod for you prospective tuners as the punch in the chest around 5k revs still takes me by surprise!!!
I'll never sell my ST, Husband says half jokingly " Let's have a Viking Funeral in her" You first babe
