I've has a bash at producing a printable guide which takes in most of the things we have collectively experienced whilst purchasing our new ST.gif .
It's based on the thread that smjohns started in March last year so credit to him for getting the ball rolling. bow.gif
I produced the document in Word 2007 but converted it to PDF to maximise compatibility. It has lost some quality in the process so if anyone would prefer the docx version let me know.
Constructive feedback welcome as are suggestions for addition yep.gif

Hello,
thank you for the guide. It surely is helpful. I'm buying used ST and I'm looking for any information about ST. Is there anything specific that should be checked on this car? (besides common things, like paint, rust, etc.) I'm taking the car to the dealer for check, but still, I want to know as much as I can myself.

Thanks.

The simplest answer to that one is to trawl through the forum fox.
There have been lots of niggles but only one or two worrying issues (power steering failure for example).
Most peeps have had no problems at all.

To be honest with you Fox, this car is remarkably good quality.....most of the problems you get are only expressed as problems due to bad dealerships who refuse or in some cases ignore request for work to be carried out under warranty, you get the odd common problem with issues on spec etc but to be honest most of the guys on here are more than happy with there motors.....get a good dealer and you should get trouble free motoring

Excellent guide.
I would not normally have a clue what to look for.
Picking up a new ST3 soon.

Great Stuff Alb.
I should be picking up a new, "In Yer Face" Electric Orange ST2 during October 2008.
If I am not too excited, I will try & carry out these simple checks before driving away into the sunset (always suposing it's stopped raining by then).

Any thoughts on if the new facelifted version is any better or worse than the old version.

Onwards & Upwards - Mike.

Good idea Alb,

Might want to include this (see attached) - I was told it was a common problem by the bodyshop - mine had it from new.

Didn't notice until I washed it for the first time - took 4 months to get it sorted . . . long story!

Oh and the pic is a rear wheel arch!

Thanks, that is a useful one to add.
About time I did an update to this so if anyone feels they would like to see something included shout up now.
