So I got caught by a mobile speed camera van last week  and will now have 6 pts in my licence for the next 15 months ...

Should I stick with the car as it is and try to control myself, put it back to stock and hope I'll be less inclined to go fast, or get rid of the ST altogether for something like a comfortable coupe to just pose in ??

I am seriously considering the latter, maybe a 320i or an Alfa GT and chilling out til my points have gone back to 3 ...

any car can speed mate, no point in getting rid of something you enjoy.

just be a bit more wary of what could be round the corner

Why not just buy a road angel or a tomtom and have speed camera warnings turned up nice and loud.....no more points for you....(in theory anyway)

Hope that helps

It doesn't matter what car you're in, the speed is in you!
Control it, job done.

I have been driving my Stage 3 ST for the last 3 years with 6 points fella ...admittedly all the points come off this year . Stick with it and adjust your driving to suit :yep:

Learn to drive like you are on your last warning... And get a Tomtom that makes a real annoying siren sound every time you go over 70... grrr!!

points may come of your licence after 3 years but will still affect you insurance as they always ask "any claims of convictions in the last 5 years"

Been there before mate and I was only 3 months into ST ownership, full 6 points in one go. It taught me a huge lesson and I am a much more calmer driver. I'm sure many of us on here have been in the same boat.

Worst thing you can do is worry about it. Take it as lesson learnt, whats done is done.

I don't think you should get rid of the ST as you will forget about the points and regret selling it later down the line.

Chin up :-)
