I was looking at the bluefin upgrade, THATS ABOUT AS FAR AS I'VE GOT!. i have hit that ceiling where you realise the engine has so much more to offer (could rant about the power and grip but i won't) and was thinking of expanding the grin a little more so i was wondering if i were to ask the folx that have modded what mods you have chosen above others and why?. The choices are pretty obvious really

K&N, Wolf, GGR, Pipercross etc

I notice the GGR one is considerably more pricey - is it genuinely better than the others or is it just the name you're paying for? I saw they charge approx 350 beans as opposed to say 240 for a K&N alternative. (prices before discounts etc).

If anyone can tell me what the differences are then that'd be great. A mate dropped off the October issue of 'what car' and there's an article on there about a new code of practise drawn up by a collaboration between the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) and the Society Of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). This new code is called the 'Motor Industry Code Of Practise For Service and Repair' and is supposed to be an attempt by the industry to offer self regulation.

Anyway; it might be worth having a look at their website at http://service.motorindustrycodes.co.uk
to see what it's about.

Has anyone ever had the problem of the windscreen seal lifting?
After a run at speed the seal at the centre of the screen in line with the aerial starts to lift, and comes fully un seated, at one point it was flapping about 2cm out of the car!

I don't know if the car has had a new screen in the past, as I bought it 14 months old so it is a possibility. I have to push the surround back in, but it keep happening.

Any ideas?!

Is there any way of telling if your st has been remapped?

I think my st pulls just as quick as my sti scooby i had a few years ago, with it being second hand you never know what's been done previously

must admit if it's standard, its impressive

going to get a ds soon, which i will admit when i first joined this forum i though everybody had a nintendo obsession,

I've been watching a post hopefully for a while on this very topic but it's all gone quiet so I thought I'd post this to see if it got people talking again.

Basically the other post had got to the bottom of USB or Ipod connectivity to the Sony head unit if you hadn't had the option when you bought the car.

The post had a list of what you needed finis code wise and firmware on your stereo.

Now I can get the parts but what I'm really interested to know is whether or not anyone has managed to get a dealer to do a retro fit and if so how much - I was quoted a rediculous £1000 but I think that was to put me off.

If dealer fit isn't an option we need a guide on how to install the kit - BVC etc like this excellent post which shows a retro fit of bluetooth.

I am quite new in here, and I am interested in changing IC in my ST-2. As I am not from UK so I have to use a local sources. I'd like to know what is the original size of IC, what is the best size (bigger better?), max size which can be fitted in, and if there is any diff if I use good brand or "noname" one.

You know when you change gear and the gear up light kicks in on other Foci, well my ST doesnt do it and I was wondering if anybody knew if this was an ST thing or a fault?
The red up arrow illuminates on ignition but nothing when I take it to 7 thousand revs which I dont often

Any info would be great.

Look I know I'm not a member, but I was hoping someone could help me as I am intending to sell my ST3 and it looks like I have a fault appear in the last couple of days.

Basically I have the standard heater/aircon, and not climate, and the light on the Recirculatiion button keeps coming on.

Now I don't have it set to on, and I know that when the light comes on, it isn't switching it over, as you can hear the change, but the light just keeps coming on, even when the heater is completely off.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, if I have an '06 plate, is this still covered under warranty if it is a fault?

About 3 weeks ago, I contacted my Insurance Company (eSure) to find out how much it would cost to amend my Insurance once I had the ECU re-mapped with Dreamscience - They quoted me £50. I thought great, I'll get one ordered.

Received my Dreamscience this morning, so gave them another call to amend my policy.

In the space of 3 weeks, its gone from £50 to £101.25! Now I know Companies are being hit hard by the credit crunch but FFS

So I've got 5 months left before renewal, I think I'll give Greenlight a ring instead.

eSure have been taking my money for long enough, time to give someone else a try. just recently my 07 ST2 3 door has developed an intermittant problem with the drivers' door lock.

When Im out and about I always lock the doors by means of the lock button on the door handle.

Sometimes when I do this its actually deadlocking the drivers' door meaning I cant open it at all

The only means of unlocking it is by using the keyfob but as you know the door will then self lock again after a short while as its meant to do.

The passenger door is fine and can be opened normally.

I know when this is going to happen because when you lock the door via the button the locking sound is more of a click than the normal solid sound if you get my drift.

Just to make you aware the Garage System is now offline whilst we upgrade the system. Please bear with us as this may take a few days to complete.

The system, once complete will perform and look the same as the current one, we will then within the next few weeks further upgrade the system adding some new features.
