What To Mod First?---virgin St

i have a 5 door performance blue (yeah i know but its a compromise, some of us have kids ) 06 plate , its my baybeeee! ahem!, this post is about what performance mods to do first and why??. I was looking at the bluefin upgrade, THATS ABOUT AS FAR AS I'VE GOT!. i have hit that ceiling where you realise the engine has so much more to offer (could rant about the power and grip but i won't) and was thinking of expanding the grin a little more so i was wondering if i were to ask the folx that have modded what mods you have chosen above others and why?. I'm staring out with it all so i suppose what i'm really after a good exhaust setup, air filter, and any other gubbins to start with that would make the blufin remap work best, or even if the blufin isn't the way to go? also something I'm interested in is the mods people like graham goode do and if its worth the extra $ to have it set up by a pro. i know my car wants to go faster and who am i to let it down . apologies for being a bit lame here, most of this stuff is probably available on here if you have the time to look!. do an overworked, owner a favour and make an HAPPY TODAY!

Which Cais?

Hey all...been having a read around on the forum but I'm still unable to choose which CAIS I should be going for...

The choices are pretty obvious really

K&N, Wolf, GGR, Pipercross etc

I notice the GGR one is considerably more pricey - is it genuinely better than the others or is it just the name you're paying for? I saw they charge approx 350 beans as opposed to say 240 for a K&N alternative. (prices before discounts etc).

If anyone can tell me what the differences are then that'd be great. Thanks!

Garage Standards

Haven't had my ST long enough yet but I get the feeling that most people are not too happy with the standard of service they get no matter what make of car they run. The common term I see is 'stealers'...and that's on various forums I've been a member of.

A mate dropped off the October issue of 'what car' and there's an article on there about a new code of practise drawn up by a collaboration between the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) and the Society Of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). This new code is called the 'Motor Industry Code Of Practise For Service and Repair' and is supposed to be an attempt by the industry to offer self regulation.

Anyway; it might be worth having a look at their website at http://service.motorindustrycodes.co.uk
to see what it's about.

Thought someone may be interested.
Cheers,
Andy

I took my son to football training last night to Greenfield in Saddleworth but instead of returning home I thought I'd go to the local beauty spot Dovestones reserviour. When I got there at about 7:45pm I noticed that you have to pay and display but thought at that time it must be out of hours. A car pulls up behind me and to traffic wombles get out and start checking cars and book 3 of them. The restrictions cease at 8:00pm but they had to get a few more bookings in before that time. I wouldn't mind but the car park is big and there must have been about 10 cars in total there. I challenge Oldham council to convince me that parking fines are there to discourage inconsiderate parking and reduce congestion and these licenced bandits don't have targets.

Hello everybody,

I've been watching a post hopefully for a while on this very topic but it's all gone quiet so I thought I'd post this to see if it got people talking again.

Basically the other post had got to the bottom of USB or Ipod connectivity to the Sony head unit if you hadn't had the option when you bought the car.

The post had a list of what you needed finis code wise and firmware on your stereo.

Now I can get the parts but what I'm really interested to know is whether or not anyone has managed to get a dealer to do a retro fit and if so how much - I was quoted a rediculous £1000 but I think that was to put me off.

If dealer fit isn't an option we need a guide on how to install the kit - BVC etc like this excellent post which shows a retro fit of bluetooth.

http://www.focusstoc.com/forums/Fitting-Fa...mp;hl=bluetooth

Hope to hear from someone in the know soon!

Cheers in advance!

I've bought a K&N filter but i'm sure i've read that the new filter requires the original rubber seal from the standard filter to be fitted around the K&N filter but looking at the new filter it already appears to have its own rubber seal so i assume I can just put this straight in. I'm waiting for the delivery of an ECU Spacer which will be my next job. I'm also a bit concerned about the whole oily maf issue how common is this??

One-touch Up Window - Can It Be Retro Fitted?

Hi Guys, bought my 56 plate Focus ST a few weeks back and just taken the plunge on joining STOC as an owner. My ST-3 only has the one-touch window facility on the way down and not up. This may sound trivial but I find it quite annoying as my last car had this feature. Can it be retro-fitted? If so is it just a case of a new switch or something more complex? I did have a browse for such a topic but couldn't see anything.
Any help much appreciated.
Neil
