Hi

We'll be going to Germany next month for the WRC, I gather to drive over there you need to carry a fire extinguisher... doesn't seem a bad idea to have one anyway! So, has anyone fitted one / can anyone recomend a good one (hopefully not I guess!!). I quite like the look of the carbon ones but if they're crap...

PS, any other tips welcome, ie headlamp doodahs... have driven over there before, just not in my own car ).gif

When I say carbon Imean carbon fibre, not carbon dioxide...just googled 'carbon fire extinguisher' oops! blush.gif

However, I've just found this! http://www.sdfirealarms.co.uk/shop/flamebe...1d5867d28391a31 looks awsome! 8).gif D.gif

Just need a nifty place to fit it... Sal has the car and it's 200 miles away so can't look for myself (.gif

thumbsup.gif Ello Bob! I have 2 normal fire extinguishers but they just live in the box of crap in the boot! Best place to put them on a permanent basis though is under the front of the seat on the floor! You can drill into the floor and mount the clips there! They are out of sight but easily reachable! Yes thats where i put them in my RS Turbo! thumbsup.gif

Much better off in your boot, if your car does catch fire you dont want to be scrambling around in the footwell with the flames licking over your head. If the flames are licking over your head Im going to say its to late for fire extinguisher and probably time to call the BatMan.

Fishy, I was thinking of under the front seat, under the knee area. I saw a bracket that someone had made, might have been on Scoobynet, was thinking of summat similar but with no car here I can't have a look and ponder! D.gif

unsure.gif I think the floor area on the Focus is similar to the RST! There was an downward sloping bit running forward from the seat base that was ideal! If you needed the extinguisher it was easy to get to but it wasnt in the way! Mind you im a short arse so my seat is quite a long way forward! lol.gif

I've got a flamebeater that sits in the boot atm until I work out how to fit it in the cabin somewhere.

On my previous BMW I had a nifty bracket that fitted it smartly under the drivers seat. Seats were recaros so trying to find out if it is a generic part...
