Following on from the sucess of this years 3 trips its time for me to put in motion some forward planning for next Spring! Obviously we cant arrange any firm dates till the provisional calendar is released but i will be looking at late April/earlyMay as a starting point! Please only show an interest if you are SURE that you want to go! Im a bit fed up with telling the hotel that X number of people are not actually going! Its not a cheap trip but well worthwhile! Check out the other trips from the links in my signature! Im also inviting some of the VXRonline boys and girls so it could be the biggest one yet! I dont think its worth getting a list up yet but as soon as we get some confirmed dates i will be! Anyone booking rooms will have to sort out their deposits direct with The Hotel Blaue Ecke and Michaela will be told not to hold rooms for people that cant be arsed to contact her! Right lets get the ball rolling!

We're trying to sort out the logistics of a calendar. Can people please give some indication of whether they'd buy one FOR CERTAIN provided the pictures are up to scratch and also what sort of price bracket you'd be willing to pay for one?
Add a 'Yes' vote for whether you'd buy one and a vote for the price bracket you'd be willing to pay.
.gif)
I would envisage that due to
relatively low numbers we're talking about, it won't be cheap. You'll be buying this because you get to see cool pics of your favourite car 365 days a year, and we'll be aiming for a quality product that will be robust and look good. It would be good to be able to put maybe a couple of quid into the club's kitty as well for funding future merchandise etc.
None of the money made from the calendar will be taken out of the club, it will all go back into running costs and other merchandise. If interest is too low or costs prohibitively expensive, we'll cancel the project and let you know why. Cast your votes please!

Edited to add: I'm sure we could ship these abroad to our international brethren, although we may need to organise something to cover higher postage costs.

As above really. I think Ford have made a bit of a mistake with the new Mk2.5, and we're they people they really need to be appealing to as we're already MORE likely to buy another one when the time comes.
Personally? I won't be buying one if I have to change it before the Mk3 comes out, or they bring out a (better-looking) RS. I'll be getting into something German next year most likely, then...

I posted this elsewhere but it probably got lost mid thread. I see that one or two lucky members have collected their Mk2.5 ST and wondered how they are getting on and specifically some info on the following:
1) I note that have slightly changed the boot lid design, but does it still collect water so that when you open it this pours off the edges and into the boot like the mk2?
2) Is the interior really much improved over the old and if so how? Are the door and arm rest plastics as squidgy as the dash or are they unchanged?
3) Is the rear rattle and other interior squeaks still there?
4) Have they changed the door seal design to hopefully prevent the dreaded creak?
5) If you have the xenon lights, is the problem of the washer tank venting fluid into the wing still apparent? (When full you will get a smell of screen wash when you head around corners a bit sharpish).
6) What inter-cooler is now fitted? Have they stuck with the 10 layer or gone bigger?
7) Is the glove-box finally chilled (if it is there will be a controllable vent at the back that you can turn)?
8 ) What extras if any has your car got that you were not expecting or did not spec? (Auto dimming mirror, lights and wipers? Global Closing?, footwell lights etc).
9) If your car comes with the starter button but not keyfree system, how does this work?
Some of this info will be useful for those thinking of upgrading.

Hi folks, following on from the success that has been the SToc playing cards and my appointment as SToc merchandise manager I am looking at getting club calendars made up for 2009
kicking this idea off now to give people plenty time to get good photos over the summer months and at the shows,
Would be looking to get a range of pictures of individual/group and show photos.
the calendars will be 8 page A3 type and also desktop CD case type. and probably different photo sets for each.
will be looking to do both the A3 calendars and desktop for approx £10 posted
there will be a thread started soon to purely collect picture to keep things organised, looking for the best way to vote/select the images....although we will see how many start rolling in...lol
the image requirements are as follows (taken from printers site)
300dpi . If you do not understand DPI simply set your cameras picture size to the maximum. Generally a 4 megapixel camera on its highest setting will output close to an A4 size image.
Cameras usually report back the size as being in pixels. We require images at the following size in pixels: 2480px x 1748px.
DO NOT POST PICS IN THIS THREAD

Having posted earlier about this i was told there hasnt been an MPG poll. Ive done this in the hope that all the data on this can be in one place.
I hope the format is ok, mods please feel free to edit if it isnt quite right.
And please only post average figures over mixed roads, motorway only/town only average doesnt give an accurate representation of what to expect day to day on differing roads.
[EDIT just realised ive overlapped the first 2 options - cant seem to edit it either - sorry]

I was just reading about the aux heater function in the focus manual and was going to set it up to warm the car for the drive to and from work. I've not heard of this function before and wanted to hear other peoples thoughts on it and if it worked well/used much fuel?

Having recently seen a post on here about running the car in, and reading the article below just thought that i'd start a poll to see whats the general outcome of people running their cars in?

Just comming up to 1500 miles in the ST, and thought i'd better have an oil change after the run in.
Just to check does £49 for an oil change and filter, sound right from a ford dealer.
That for all the offical spec stuff.
Would just like to check i'm not getting ripped off.
Thanks for any replies.

Yup thats right, looks like my short but enjoyable time with the st is over (for the time being anyway).
I was involved in quite a nasty smash last night on the way out to the shops with my partner when a lad in a cavalier came hooning out of a side road without even slowing down, neither of us had time to break and we plowed into the side of his car head on. we went spinning down the road one way and his car ended up on the otherside of the road 'in' a corner shop, luckily no one was seriously hurt and again luckily, no one was was entering or leaving the shop.
I have got a witness for the whole thing and the details of the other driver who was admitting responsibility at the scene with witnesses so hopefully it should be fairly cut and shut case.
The last thing i seen of the ST as me and our lass were packed off in an ambulance were the firemen crowbaring what was left of the bonnet off to take the battery out
I do feel like iv been kicked down the stairs...
On that note I would like to thank the guys that helped get us out of the car and ring the services, and also ford for providing such effective airbags even if i do have burn marks across my wrists where they went off.

Another Dared to be different customer
We were working long hours last week installing LSD doors on to a Forum members ST show car.
I am sure that these not will not suit everybody’s tastes – however they are different all the same!
Not really a DIY fitment either as they involve cutting the wings, shortening the washer bottle and extending each door wiring loom by 1 metre.
The LSD hinges are top quality and work very well once set up properly.

I'm getting 23 mpg on my car. It's done 4500 miles approx and I can't help thinking it should be a bit higher. What do you think? Anyone think this is too low? My journey to work is about 15 - 20 mins / town driving.
