After a long time the North Wales region has started to grow and the man mainly at the helm has been Dave (st3dav). After meeting him and his family at the xmas do and finding out he is a true fan and thoroughly nice guy to boot, the staff and I have decided to give him the role.
We hope you will join us in congratulating Dave and that those local to him will help support his meets and runs along the Welsh roads. Im sure John and Mark will be on hand to help you with making Wales a truly great region.
Welcome to the fold Dave!
Congratulations from the focusstoc.com team.

A new type of spam was brought to our attention this afternoon which appears to be posted by a 'Guest' user profile which was why the site was taken offline by Scott and I whilst we addressed the issue.
It contained the usual garbage and has been dealt with, but please be aware and alert - DO NOT CLICK on ANY of the links posted by spam accounts. Don't reply in the thread, just use the 'Report' button and it'll flag it to us.
Clicking links to porn sites can result in the downloading of malware and viruses to your PC, even without your knowledge.
For those of you who're not as 'security conscious' as you should be, I would recommend Avast! Antivirus (
www.avast.com) or AVG Antivirus (
www.grisoft.com) - both are free to home users. Additionally, I would recommend a good free firewall to use in place of the Windows Firewall such as COMODO Firewall (
www.comodo.com) or ZoneAlarm (
www.zonealarm.com).
I also use Spybot Search & Destroy (
www.safer-networking.org) and Spywareblaster (
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) for removal and prevention of spyware. Finally, I run WinPatrol (
www.winpatrol.com) which alerts me whenever a program adds itself to my system startup (this is what a virus would do) and allows me to allow or deny the action.
Once a week or so, I run CCleaner (
www.ccleaner.com), which clears out all the rubbish in my cache and browser histories, keeping the machine running nicely.
There are comprehensive FAQs on each site listed, but if anyone has questions about PC security or the above software, feel free to start a new topic in the
Computer and Technology forum and I'll be happy to answer your questions and pass on any advice that I can!

In True fashion. Richard (U05RDH) has put himself forward and has been promoted to the position of Regional Rep for Scotland (North).
Richard has indicated for a while now that he would like to work closely with Aaron and some of the other local Ford crew up this neck of the woods to take the reigns at the meets / events in the area, as well as catering for the local guys here in the North, part of his new role will be working with Allan in the South of the region to arrange joint events (E.g. Crail, Knockhill etc)
I'd like to take this opportunity along with all the members to wish you every success in the new role, and look forward to some of the events the new year may bring in 2009!
Congratulations!

Evening All

The ShoutBox will return when the big hand hits 5.30 however it comes with some conditions.
Now I'm not going to go over the events that resulted in the shoutbox being removed but you should be aware of what will get it removed permanently if it happens again.
The Shoutbox is not to used for flaming club staff or questioning their actions in a thread. If you have a question regarding the actions of the club staff please direct it to me I will look at the thread and discuss the matter with the staff before returning to you with a reply.
The Shoutbox is not to be used as a way of insulting or abusing fellow members regardless of your relationship. If you want to have an open discussion amongst friends where banter is widely accepted and will not be misunderstood by other members then please use the chat system I will be upgrading this soon along with a change in the software that will allow people to use it behind heavy corporate firewalls.
Please remember that Shoutbox is a privilege that we added to the forum if it is abused in anyway it will be removed permantly.
If action is required against any member who abuses their access to the Shoutbox they will be subject to the following process.
1. Warning from any of the club staff
2. Shoutbox suspension
3. Permanent Shoutbox Ban
4. Permanent Shoutbox removal
No 4. will be carried out if multiple users abuse each other or the club staff, I can't stress this enough there will be no exceptions to this rule. The shoutbox uses a large amount of server memory If I remove it, it makes my life easier so don't give me an excuse for an easier life.
As far as I'm concerned everyone starts fresh from now if you abuse it you lose it

Regards
Scott

All,
My apologies for the delay.
The new version of the Garage system is now online. It will feel slightly different to the old one, however it offers all the same features. The difference being this system is actively being developed which means it will be improved on over the coming year.
If you find any problems, then please let us know either in this thread or directly to me via a PM.
Regards
Scott

For The Attention Of All Members
As I'm sure you are all now aware the Shoutbox has been closed. I have come to the end of my tether, to say I'm both annoyed and disappointed is an understatement. It has come to my attention that certain members feel they can both abuse fellow members and disrespect the site staff.
I don't have to remind you that the site staff work extremely hard to keep the forum running smoothly yet on numerous occasions this week several members have been both rude and disrespectful to site staff and towards each other. I will not tolerate this behaviour and have therefore decided to remove the shoutbox from the website for the period of one week. Whilst I appreciate not everyone should be made to suffer I also feel that as a club we can not allow this behaviour to continue.
I started this club as a hobby nothing more nothing less it was never meant to grow to the extent it has today and I never thought for one minute I would have to deal with the childish actions of individuals who seem to think they can do whatever they like but now I have a responsibility to look after the forum and ensure its future as a friendly community so I will do whatever it takes in order to make that happen.
As a result of these events I have now decided to rework the clubs T's & C's alongside James RS500 the Administrator of FiestaSToc.com and our own club staff. These new T's & C's will change the way in which we deal with abusive or disruptive behaviour, this isn't something I wanted to do as I've always found this forum to be a pleasant and informative environment however it seems I have been proved wrong and on a daily basis I seem to be receiving complaints and reports from members and the staff team, I don't have the time to deal with these issue's and I don't expect the club staff to have to put up with some of the comments they have received.
If you have no intention of being part of a great forum then please leave I will be more than happy to delete your account to allow space for someone else.
The new T's & C's will be posted very shortly and you will all be made aware of the changes.

Well it's been an interesting couple of years for me helping out with the site. There have been upsides and downsides and I've made some good friends along the way, however it's time for me to step down as Admin. I'll be reverting to Owner Member and I'm not disappearing! I have a lot of things I need to focus on at the moment and the admin side of the site takes up too much time.
You'll have noticed the promotion of Richard and Marc to Admin, they've been doing a great job learning the ropes and getting stuck into the role. We also have some new Staff on board in the form of John and Chris who're doing a brilliant job as well. I have no worries about leaving you in their capable hands, along with the other reprobates that comprise the Staff team...!

Thanks to everyone who's made this job a pleasure and two fingers to those who've made it a chore..!

Here's to the continued success of focusstoc.com!

******************FOCUSSTOC.COM 2009 CALENDAR******************Quick update for you all. ' And time to be Honest'
Myself and Scott have taken over the Calendar production for 2008/2009. This transition period has not been without its up's and downs. Unfortunately Big Stu has had to rush to work (Oil Rig in middle of North Sea), and does not have access to his files whilst away. So we have had to work with what you (the kind Members !! !) have given us!
There were a lot of very nice pictures given to us, and it was a hard task (Really hard task!) To be honest driven mostly by the resolution, and quality of the files we were given and a lot of help from (Byngmeister!!!). We have come up with a list of 'finals' which I will post up as the week goes on to give you a sneak peak of what the Calendar will be like.
To save time (And hopefully some embarassment of messing heaps of calendars up!) I am currently working with the Reprographics team within my work. They produce all our corporate handout's to a very high standard.
Hope to get some proof's for me over the next couple of days. Once the proofs are approved / checked for quality. I hope to put this in to production (Subject to cost) and everyone's agreement and should have this up and running in the shop within the next 10 days.
Doing it this way I will be able to rest everyone's mind that this will give the calendar more of a quality appearance, which i'm sure I know I would rather stare at for 12 months of the year, than a back street firm doing it.
Upside is it may make it slightly more expensive, I will advise over the next week how much exactly. I will obviously be passing all the discounts I get for getting it done through my work to you's guys.
I promise it will be something special! and not just some tat!

hope this helps explain why there isn't a lot of 'noise' just yet about the calendars.
More to follow over the week
Thanks

As many of you will have seen there have been a few changes in the Club Staff team and Admin Team and I promise you this is the last one
I'd like to welcome Hjcrichard to the Admin team

Along with Marc, Rich will be working along side myself and Gav to learn the ropes and hopefully take over some of the responsibilities of running the club on a daily basis.
Neither a Staff role or an Admin role are particularly easy so please give them a little space before you start bombarding them with hundreds of questions

I know what you lot are like

Guy's all the best with the new roles

I'd like to formally welcome Bronzed on-board as our newest Staff member. His promotion alongside Johnpro reflects his excellent work as West Mids Regional Rep and his enthusiasm and dedication to the club!
As mentioned in the other recent 'promotion' emails, the club continues to grow at a fantastic rate and we're finding we need more people around to help spread the workload. In the time-honoured tradition, Bronzed will switch to using his real name on the forum so from here on his username is now 'Chris'. Glad to have you on board, Chris!
For both John and Chris's Regional Rep roles, we will be looking for other Owner Members who'd like to take on a little bit of the responsibility for organising meets in those areas. Both Chris and John will continue to support their regions whilst their successors are chosen - if you fancy being West Mids rep or South Wales rep, PM either Adam TFB or myself and we'll put you forward for discussion with the other members of staff.
Chris, John......thanks for stepping up, it's appreciated.

I'd just like to take a moment to welcome Johnpro to the Staff team. John's done sterling work as Regional Rep for South Wales, and with the club growing at the rate it is, we're very grateful he's agreed to step up and take on a slightly higher-profile role within the club. John will still be looking after S.Wales Reg. Rep position until someone else steps up to take over from him.
John, thanks for the hard work you've put in in S.Wales region, it's been noticed and appreciated. Welcome to the FocusSToc.com Staff team, chap!

It's a busy time for us at the moment! With Marcellus freezing his conkers off in the snow in the Alps, his available time on the forum has understandably declined. He's still around and does a great job helping out with membership upgrades from time to time, however we feel the time is right to increase the Admin team on the forum. This probably comes as no surprise with Johnpro1 stepping up to a Staff role, however I'd like to welcome Marc as our newest Admin member!
He'll be working with Scott and I primarily in the early days, so if the forum breaks, it's his fault.

Marc, thanks for the work you've been doing as Staff and welcome to the Admin team. It sucks, you're gonna love it...!

Hi All

I landed at Gatwick this morning and have been up for 18 hours now, I'm trying to stay awake until about 11pm tonight that way I shouldn't suffer tomorrow or for the rest of the week

Anyway If you've sent me a PM or an email over the past couple of weeks please give me a couple of days to search through all the emails and get back to people.

All,
Just to make you aware the Garage System is now offline whilst we upgrade the system. Please bear with us as this may take a few days to complete.
The system, once complete will perform and look the same as the current one, we will then within the next few weeks further upgrade the system adding some new features.

Well unfortunately it has come to that time of year again, the end of another show season. We've had some great outings this year and probably some forgettable moments. I'd like to thank all the members who've attended the shows we've been to this year and with the amount of support being shown were going to attend more next year. I think big credit has to go to our welsh members who have been the furthest travelled throughout and provide great company. Cheers guys, wouldnt be the same without you.
I'd also like to thank all our reps for their efforts over this show season, arranging convoys, helping find hotels, setting the stands up etc. Great to have you all on the team. Also a big credit has to go to our admins, founders and the other staff, without their work behind the scenes we wouldnt have this club for starters and we definitely wouldnt have these events/shows to attend.
Every event we've attended we've had great feedback from the organisers, this is always encouraging and is helping to set up great relationships which result in great stand positions at future events. The RSOC seem to be very willing in having us back at their events up and down the country and hopefully we can attend the majority of their shows next year.
I think the first show of 2009 will be the Central RS day at Santa Pod in Bedfordshire in April time i think. I will of course get a full calendar up and running, work alongside the admins and get every event in the shop to make ticket purchasing even easier. Not just for you but also for me. I think it might even be a great idea to Premier Inn it up at most events this year, seems to provide the greatest laughs and some very interesting stories.
Heres to 2009 and thanks once again for your support over the 2008 season.
Adam.

For the second year in a row we are going to have a stand at the FFOC National Day at Billing Aquadrome. We had a good turnout last year of app 10-15 cars, but of course we would like to have the same again or even more. From my previous thread i have seen there is a lot of interest and some have even already booked into the nearby travel lodge.
Some of us will be camping there as we have our own designated camping area and show area so youll have your car by your tent for the night. All tickets will have to be brought at the gate and its £10 if you are not camping and £13 if you are.
I need to know numbers because i need to tell the FFOC how many cars we are going to have and how many passes we require. Im going to also offer this to the Fiesta site and see if any of them are up for coming along.
Thanks
Adam.
