Just comming up to 1500 miles in the ST, and thought i'd better have an oil change after the run in.
Just to check does £49 for an oil change and filter, sound right from a ford dealer.
That for all the offical spec stuff.

Would just like to check i'm not getting ripped off.

Thanks for any replies.
Rob

Yes that is VERY cheap, when i had mine done it cost £74 for the oil alone, the ST.gif holds nearly 7 litres!!

Id check with the dealer that quoted you that price and make sure that they have priced up the correct oil yep.gif

If it is let me know where it is lol.gif

In the break in proceduer that I used, it said to change the oil after 1500 miles. To be honest though its more peace of mind than anything.

Sounds quite a reasonable price to me, if they are using a quality oil. 5W 30 (Ford WSS-M2C-913B or ACEA A1/B1 or ACEA A5/B5)

The first service (at 12,500m / 1 year) is generally upwards of £100 and doesn't consist of a great deal beyond an oil and filter change !

Checked with the Ford dealer down the road from me. £50 for oil and filter change with standard ford oil, that was at a Rapid Fit centre. He said if you go to the actual Ford dealer service place next door then it will be double that.

he said it would be £75 for Magnetec.

Is the Magnetec a lot better than the standard Ford oil ??
my ST2 only has 200 miles on it, but I guess getting it done every 6k with Magnetec will be a lot better in the long run, bearing in mind the turbo and all (no pun intended lol.gif )

thumbsup.gif If you are changing oil every 6000 miles the Ford Semi Synthetic 5W30 is more than adequate for the job! Using anything more expensive is a waste of money in my opinion! I would advise using a genuine Ford/Volvo oil filter though! thumbsup.gif
