Hi there, I am changing my xenons to 6000k bulbs but cant get the old ones out. i have removed headlight (very easy) removed bulb (very easy) but can't get bulb out of bulb holder with metal pack on it. I have tried putting in a vice and twisting/pulling i have even grrrrrd and swore at it but to no avail. I'm sure someone has done this before, maybe even somebody that works for ford?

I know i will end up breaking it completely if i don't find the right way

It was so much easier with aftremarket HID kit on last focus, censored.gif ford!!!

Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cry.gif

I am not certain about this, hopefully someone can confirm it, I believe I read that the ST uses D1S xenon bulbs (which have the electronic ignitor built into the lamp base)

Whereas earlier xenons used D2 (S or R) bulbs look like

Not sure if I have inserted these images correctly

Yep the bulb comes complete with everything built on, however the mounting plate does come off. It should slide out with a bit of a pull not really that tight.

What he said.

The standard xenons are excellent.

I agree standard xenons are excellent but want a whiter light, it is not much difference but makes it look different from the ever increasing number of ST.gif 's on the road now, got 3 in my village now!!

Thanks for your replies

Sounds like a bit too much work messing with one of the most vital pieces of equipment in the car? Those bulbs cost £150 odd quid each Plus fitting from fords!!!

For the record, I think this is one of the daftest ideas I've seen since ****** took his car back to ********* again.

You'll all know what I mean. ;.gif

Honestly, DON'T censored.gif ABOUT WITH PERFECTLY GOOD XENON LIGHTS. I don't know how much 'whiter' you think they're going to get. And xenon units aren't £40. I think you're looking at the wrong item. A lot of people describe lights as 'xenon' when they're not. And a lot of people describe the ST's lights as 'bi-xenon' when they're not.

Send me a link to these '£40 lights' and I'll show you why you're wrong.

Hi Gav, could you explain what bi-xenon lights are, just curious. I thought they were the ones that had a shutter that moved to change the light pattern when the high beam came on, but i'm a bit "in the dark" on this.

Cheers

He could try driving around in a clown suit and have a big red nose painted on the bonnet - I'm sure he would stand out from the other 3 then !

Judging by the lack of "g" on upgrading i wouldnt expect anything else. Parts of the Focus you can play with however other parts are best left un-touched, this is one of them.

The ST isnt a 1.2 Corsa remember.
